Claims of Enforced Disappearance of Six Baloch Youths Jiwani

Jiwani: local reports reveal that six Baloch were reportedly seized by Pakistani forces while returning home from a picnic in the Panwan area near Jiwani, located in Gwadar district. Their families have been left in anguish, as they have had no contact or knowledge of their whereabouts since the arrest.

The missing individuals include Rauf, Abdul Hameed’s son; Nasir Shah, the son of Shafi Muhammad; Faisal, Haji Mukhtar’s son; Muhammad Jan, Ismail Bapari’s son; Anis, the son of Ishaq; and Amir Bakhsh, a resident of Rodbar and Suleman’s son.

Additionally, local sources have claimed that over two dozen other Baloch individuals are also missing after being detained in the same area within the last 48 hours.

The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) and the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) have been vigorously voicing their concerns through peaceful protests, sit-ins, and marches, demanding justice for those who have enforced disappeared. They insist that the missing must be brought before courts and that their families deserve answers.

In contrast, Pakistani authorities often dismiss these enforced disappearance allegations, sometimes attributing them to security operations.

According to international human rights law, arbitrary arrests and detentions without due process are strictly forbidden. The right to liberty and personal safety is a core human right acknowledged by the United Nations human rights framework. Numerous international human rights organizations continue to urge Pakistan to put an end to enforced disappearances, carry out transparent investigations, and ensure justice for the victims and their families.

Over the last six months, Iran has executed 35 Baloch prisoners

A report from the Balochistan Human Rights Documentation Network reveals alarming statistics: since early 2017, at least 766 Baloch individuals have lost their lives in Iranian prisons, with approximately 529 of them being Baloch prisoners. Notably, Zahedan Central Prison accounted for at least 283 of these ex*****ons. Despite the Baloch people comprising only about 5% of Iran's population, they face an unsettlingly high rate of ex*****ons, as pointed out by human rights analysts.

Activists argue that deep-rooted poverty, systemic marginalization, scarce job prospects, and economic disparities—exacerbated by the exploitation of resources and the strategic deep-sea ports of Chahbahar and Gwadar—have had a crippling impact on Baloch citizens. This troubling reality has persisted for decades in Balochistan.

Throughout history, the Baloch nation have endured human rights abuses, witnessed the exploitation of their natural resources, and experienced political and economic sidelining by both Iran and Pakistan.

One of the standout examples discussed is the military campaign in Balochistan that unfolded between 1973 and 1977, lasting an intense four years. Analysts deem it one of the longest and most destructive military endeavors in Balochistan. During this tumultuous period, the Shah of Iran provided significant backing to Pakistan’s military, with historical accounts revealing that Iran contributed around $200 million in assistance, alongside 30 Huey Cobra helicopters and skilled Iranian pilots. This extensive military operation resulted loss of about 3,300 Pakistani military personnel, while the estimated casualties among Baloch insurgents and civilians soared to around 7,300.

Looking back on this difficult past, Baloch nationalist leader Nawab Khair Bakhsh Marri, known as the father of the nation, shared his heartfelt concerns in a 2008 interview with journalist Rasheed Rehman, stating. "We fear extinction. We fear that we may cease to exist as a nation." He elaborated by stating, " take into account the peculiar demographic situation of the Baloch people. Our homeland is divided and fragmented among Iran, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. We fear that we may cease to be. We fear extinction. At the same time, plans to exploit our natural resources are under consideration, and the most likely route to that is through Gwadar."

Commenting on 75 years of parliamentary politics, Marri stated:

"We do not have any expectations from parliamentary democracy."

He further warned the Baloch nation:

"We have valuable coastal assets and abundant natural resources, but we do not have time. We fear that we may become extinct within the next 25 years. Our identity will be wiped out. We have no option but to fight for our survival."

Seventeen Years in the Quest for Justice for an Enforced Disappearance

In a recent video message disseminated through social media platforms, Sami Deen Baloch, a distinguished human rights advocate and leader of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), has reported experiencing ongoing harassment over the past month, accompanied by threats of arrest and incarceration.

The report indicates that her father, Dr. Deen Mohammad Baloch, was forcibly disappeared on June 28, 2009, after allegedly being apprehended by personnel from Pakistani intelligence at a government hospital in Ornach, Khuzdar District, where he served as a physician.

In her video address, Sami Deen Baloch declared that should she face arrest and imprisonment, her commitment to advocating for the recovery of her father, who has been missing for seventeen years, will remain unwavering. She expressed her determination to seek justice not only for her father but also for the families of all individuals subjected to enforced disappearance, promising to continue raising awareness regarding this significant issue.

In 2013, she participated in the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) long march, which spanned over 1,000 kilometers from Quetta to Karachi and subsequently to Islamabad. Throughout the years, she has pursued her father's case through various channels, including the judiciary, the Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances, and discussions with a former Prime Minister of Pakistan.

Despite numerous assurances from governmental authorities, her father has yet to be located. Over the course of the seventeen years following his disappearance, Sami Deen Baloch has persisted in her pursuit of justice despite enduring harassment, pressure, and past arrests and detentions. She asserts that these obstacles have only served to fortify her resolve in her ongoing struggle for truth, justice, and accountability.

Iranian Security Forces Arrest Baloch Youth and a Teacher

Panouj / Mehrestan: Balochistan: According to sources, 17-year-old Baloch youth Ali Raeisi was arrested by Iranian security forces in Fanouj on April 8, 2026, and was subsequently transferred to Pahrah ( Iranshahr )

Despite 57 days having passed since his arrest, authorities have not released any official information regarding the nature of his case, the charges against him, or his place of detention.
The continued uncertainty surrounding his whereabouts and legal status has raised serious concerns among his family and human rights advocates.

Meanwhile, Abdulkhaliq Dehani, a Baloch teacher, cultural and social activist, was reportedly arrested by security forces in Mehrestan on May 30, 2026 and taken to an undisclosed location.

Dehani is widely known as an advocate for the Balochi language and literature, as well as an educator and writer. Authorities have yet to provide any explanation regarding the reasons for his arrest, any charges against him, or his current place of detention.

His family remains unaware of his condition and whereabouts, raising growing concerns about his safety, well-being, and access to legal rights and due process.

Protesters are voicing concerns over what they see as the unjust appropriation of local natural resources, claiming that control of the mine has been handed to powerful individuals and groups, marginalizing local communities in the process. This situation, they argue, has robbed them of job prospects and economic involvement.

Baloch Citizen Homes in Chabahar Razed by Iranian Authorities

Chabahar: Reports from local sources indicate that Iranian authorities have demolished the homes of iBaloch citizens residing in Chabahar.

A Baloch woman shared a heart-wrenching account of the brutality inflicted by Iranian authorites, stating, "Even the Throne of God trembles in the face of such oppression. They’ve shattered my home, which represented our honor and dignity. The invasion happened at two in the morning, and we could hear the terrified cries of young children as they rifled through our belongings, discarding them thoughtlessly. We begged them to show us some compassion.

My brother was forced down, his head pushed to the ground, while his wife endured a beating that left her injured....Now, I find myself living in this cramped space under incredibly harsh conditions. I’m battling snakes and scorpions to survive, yet I have no choice but to stay here, as this is the only place I can call home—I constructed it with loans. My brother is here with me; he witnessed"

This alarming action has resulted in numerous Baloch families while authorities and municipal officials executed demolition operations throughout Chabahar and various regions of Balochistan.

Dr. Abdol Sattar Doshoki, a London-based Baloch political analyst and Director of the Center for Balochistan Studies, said that the demolitions reflect broader concerns regarding the treatment of Baloch people and their housing rights in Balochistan.

"In my hometown of Chabahar, officials of a government that calls itself the 'government of the oppressed' launched an operation while the poorest people in the country's most deprived province were asleep. Like a Mongol horde, they descended upon huts and makeshift homes built from reeds and other simple materials, demolishing and setting them on fire. Even women and children were not spared.

According to reports, personnel of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) opened fire, assaulted women and children, and set ablaze the shelters of extremely poor families. The cries of women, men, and children, along with their Chabahari accent, suggest that most of them were indigenous residents of Chabahar or were born there.

The operation, reportedly named 'Valfajr,' continued until around 4:00 a.m. Chabahar is being promoted as the 'Jewel of the East' under the Makuran Coastal Development Project. However, the reality is that more than half of Chabahar's population of approximately 150,000 lives in informal settlements and suffers from poverty, the majority of whom are native Baloch residents.

Inflation and poverty in Chabahar have reached alarming levels, while land prices have, in some cases, risen to levels comparable to those in Tehran."

Baloch Sunni Scholar Detained by Iranian Intelligence

Zahedan: The Balochistan Human Rights Documentation Network reports on June 9, 2026, as Molavi Abdul Aziz Omarzai a distinguished teacher at Darul Uloom Makki, was apprehended by Iranian intelligence officers in Zahedan and taken to an unknown location.

Witnesses claim Molavi Abdul Aziz Omarzai was making his way home from Makki Mosque when he was unexpectedly taken by personnel in plain clothes. As of now, there’s been no official word on his current whereabouts, health status, or any charges that may be pending against him.

It’s important to point out that this isn't the first time Molavi Abdul Aziz Omarzai has faced such treatment; he was also detained in Zahedan back in May 2024 without any clear reasons provided.

Human rights advocates are raising alarms over this latest arrest, urging authorities to furnish immediate clarity and transparency about the situation.
