THIS SIDE OF THE GRAVE is about a misfit archaeology grad student who is determined to study abandoned graveyards but when her supervisor refuses to support her, she puts her academic career in jeopardy by pursuing her passion behind his back.

The fabulous post team puts the finishing touches on the trailer and short film for This Side of the Grave: Ashley Lynch (editor) and Sevé Schelenz (colourist) at Omni Post. No photo of Marty Taylor (re-recording mixer) at the Mix Room because it was so exciting to see the final version of the show with the soundtrack, we forgot. 😂

Last of the cast, but certainly not the least, is Jill Kennedy Hickman. An actor who has been a fixture in St. John's theatre for over twenty years, Jill is our "Nosy Shopper". She gives excellent "stink-eye".

Santiago Guzmán plays the "Assistant Librarian" and even though that's a role that sounds dull on paper, Santiago makes it anything but, bringing energy and humour to the part. Santiago is an award-winning writer, performer, director and producer for theatre and film.

Next up – Mark Power, who plays Professor Ponsonby, Pru’s nemesis. Mark made the character both charming and intimidating – a tricky combo. We first saw Mark in the fabulous Newfoundland-shot short “Dead Wife Club” alongside Andy Jones and loved his comic timing. We look forward to seeing more battles between Ponsonby and Pru.

Meet Emma Hewitt, the lead in our short film as "Pru" in This Side of the Grave. Emma is lovely and smart and has a sweet nature. Fortunately, she can play a prickly misfit with an obsession for graveyards like a real badass.
