Chasing larches on Frosty Mountain Trail 🍂💛 There’s just something about the fall here at Manning Provincial Park. The larches only turn this brilliant gold for a short time, and we were lucky enough to catch them at their peak. Walking through these golden trees, feeling the cool breeze, and taking in the mountain views made for such a perfect day.

🌄 Brandywine Mountain Peak Hike Recap 🌄

We just completed an incredible day hike up Brandywine Mountain Peak near Black Tusk Village, BC! 🏞️ If you're into challenging trails with stunning alpine views, this one is a must-try.

This is considered a strenuous out-and-back hike. The trail starts with a steep forested climb that quickly brings you to beautiful alpine meadows. From there, it gets rocky, with loose scree fields and snow patches leading up to the summit. The views from the top are absolutely unreal: glaciers, lakes, rivers, and endless mountain ranges.

🌲 Highlights:
✨ Forests, rivers, and small waterfalls at the start
✨ Gorgeous meadows with wide-open views
✨ A boulder field that adds some fun scrambling (follow the trail closely to avoid going off course!)

🚗 Trail Access: You need a 4x4 high-clearance vehicle to reach the trailhead. The road is very rough, but it's well worth it.

🌞 Tips:

✅ Bring plenty of water, snacks and sturdy footwear for the steep, rocky sections.
✅ The trail isn’t too crowded, so it’s perfect for a peaceful day in nature.
✅ Be prepared for some slick and loose spots, especially on the way down.

The hike left me feeling knackered, but I intensely appreciated the beauty of Whistler and Squamish. We'll definitely be back again!

We just finished the Snow Camp Mountain hike, and it was amazing! This trail offers a solid challenge, but the summit views make it all worth it.

Trail Details: 📍 Location: Snow Camp Mountain, BC
📏 Length: 18.84 km (Out & Back)
📈 Elevation Gain: 952 m
⏱️ Moving Time: 5h 58m
🎯 Difficulty: Hard

Trailhead: The trail starts off Gibson Pass Road, with parking and washrooms available right at the start. The route is mostly a steady uphill climb.

What to Expect:

Scenery: You’ll pass through stunning alpine meadows, rocky sections, and wide-open spaces leading up to unbeatable views at the summit.

Trail Conditions: The trail is well-marked, but some sections are steep, so trekking poles were a lifesaver for the climbs and descents.

The final push to the summit (6,825 feet) was challenging, but the 360° views were breathtaking. Standing at the top, surrounded by mountains it’s an experience like no other ✨

Tip: Pack layers; it gets windy and cool at the top, even in the summer. Bring lots of water, too, as no water sources are along the trail. And don’t forget your snacks; you’ll want to refuel after the climb!

If you’re looking for a challenging hike with stunning scenery and a rewarding summit, Snow Camp Mountain is one to add to your list. Who’s ready to tackle it next?

Exploring Alberta’s Stunning Lakes 🏔🏞️

My wife and I have been lucky to visit some of Alberta’s most stunning lakes, and these are our favourites:

✨Lake Louise: The iconic turquoise water and glacier backdrop never get old. We love coming here every chance we get.

✨Mirror Lake: A serene stop on the way to Lake Agnes, this small lake offers beautiful mirror-like reflections of the surrounding peaks. It's a peaceful gem for hikers.

✨Lake Agnes: A rewarding hike above Lake Louise with a cozy teahouse view one of our top spots for a peaceful break.

✨Moraine Lake: Catching the sunrise here is always magical. The blue water and mountain views are unbeatable.

✨Bow Lake: A quieter spot with incredible reflections. Perfect for a quick, peaceful picnic away from the crowds.

✨Peyto Lake: The wolf-shaped blue lake always wows us. It’s a must-stop whenever we’re on the Icefields Parkway.

These lakes are where we’ve made some of our best memories together. Have you been to any of them? Let us know your favourite! ❤️
