Taught my middle baby girl how to make banana bread today 🍌

A long time ago, my aunt and I were having a conversation about raising kids and she shared with me it’s so important children experience joy. While it isn’t easy with four kids to do any kind of one on one, I do try so hard to create situations where they have moments of sheer joy and happiness. I’m thankful for the ability to create these memories with my kiddos.

Who says the “ex-wife” and the “new wife” have to be at odds? It’s a tired trope, and frankly, it’s time we wrote a new script. Co-parenting can be more than just polite exchanges; it can be about forming an unexpected, incredibly strong friendship. When you choose to leave the societal expectations behind and truly connect, you might find a profound ally in the person you thought was meant to be your adversary.

It means being on the same team, through thick and thin, for the sake of your shared children. It means getting through those difficult conversations not as opponents, but as partners committed to finding the best path forward. This isn’t about ignoring challenges, but facing them together, hand-in-hand, realizing that when you put ego aside, you can build a more expansive, loving family unit. Choosing friendship in co-parenting isn’t just radical; it’s deeply rewarding and creates an unbreakable bond centered on shared love for your kids.

When your oldest daughter wakes up on the wrong side of the bed & tells you she just needs some alone time and snuggles with her sister. These two have such a special bond and it melts my heart. Forever fostering this special sister love 🫶🏻

There’s a bond between sisters that runs deeper than friendship—it’s bone-deep, built into the quiet understanding of growing up side by side.

A sister will defend you with a fierceness no one else can summon, love you through your worst, and see through your masks before you even put them on.

As a mother & bonus mom of two girls, I feel a sacred responsibility to protect that bond before it’s even fully formed—to nurture it gently, without pressure, but with intention.

I want to give them what my sister gave me: a lifelong ally.

A space where there’s no competition, only compassion. Where patience lives instead of pettiness. Where kindness, not comparison, is their language. Where judgment has no seat at the table, and joy is shared, not split.

Because when sisters grow up believing they’re on the same team, they become each other’s strongest, most unwavering source of love.
