🌿 From Vancouver's sky-high rents to my tiny balcony farm: I turned a second-hand Click & Grow into my first microgreens adventure! Started with cilantro pods in October... watched the first sprouts pop up like magic, harvested fresh leaves for epic pico de gallo, and then let one plant go full rebel mode—bolting to 71cm with the most beautiful flowers I've ever grown indoors! 🌸

I’ve been reading and thinking a lot about farming lately, but most of us don’t have acres of land to start with. Some of us just have a balcony, a kitchen window, or even a few jars on the counter.

So I’m curious: Do you grow anything at home? Herbs, greens, sprouts, microgreens, anything!

If you do, I’d love to see it. Drop a photo in the comments. Let’s make this a space where we can share what’s working, and what’s not when it comes to growing food in small spaces.

I’ll start experimenting soon myself and share what happens here, mistakes and all. Hopefully this can grow into a little community of people learning from each other. 🌱

I didn’t expect a random stop at the Farmers Market to spark so many thoughts about farming in the city. But “Farm the City” turned out to be more than just a book, it made me question my own path, my future, and what “growing food” really means in an urban place like Vancouver.

Wreck Beach
My favorite beach in Vancouver so far. Stunning views all around, except from naked old mans walking around and throwing wooden spears through a sand volleyball court (Would totally be me as an old man, can't blame him).
This is a beautiful space and I could easily spend all day here. With the recent restrictions and warnings of huge amounts of ecoli, I would rather not go in the water tho.
The perfect mix of beach and forest that i always dreamed about.

Life in the city.
I still need to live the experience of city life and how that works and why it works like that here. I need that to compare and enjoy the life that I want in the future but also keeping in mind where i come from.
So far, I've experienced the free will of the city, good places, bad places, interesting art, cultural expressions, beautiful architecture, and the nightlife.

Spotted these boats cruising the Fraser River —such a chill scene with the water rippling and motors humming. I’m geeked out thinking about the engineering behind moving all that weight so smoothly, the driving of a human being able adapt to the movements of big machines on water and "parking" thousands of cutted trees on the edges of this river. I'm able to see this process on a random Monday with such stunning views.

Got some cool shots of random spots in downtown Vancouver—love how the city mixes chaos with those little green pockets. Snapped a few streets, some funky buildings, then there’s the library, with some cool rooftop views inside, and finally, the Gastown clock buzzing with people. 😄
