Over the last 3 years of building a community of creators at Haus of Owl, there’s been one question I’ve heard from musicians and songwriters more than almost anything else:

“How do I get my music on more stages?”
Festival stages. Bar stages. Anywhere people are listening.

That’s why we’re especially excited for this Sunday’s Music Elevation Sessions on Sunday April 6 from 1 to 4 PM, where we’ve invited a local legend Dane Roberts to help us explore exactly that.

Dane is the powerhouse behind Victoria Ska and Reggae Festival / Society - one of the longest running independent festivals in the country. He’s spent decades booking talent, building bridges between genres, and supporting artists from the ground up. If there’s someone who understands what makes a booker say “yes” and how artists can meaningfully show up, it’s Dane.

Also joining us is Piers Henwood of Amelia Artists, who will be part of our feedback panel- ready to hear your music and offer essential feedback to help you level up. Piers has worked with Tegan and Sara, founded his own music agency, and brings a deep well of industry experience that spans performance, and boardroom.

Music Elevation Sessions are all about helping musicians navigate the less talked about sides of the music industry. Bookings. Grant writing. Pitching. Branding. Income generation. And more. Always grounded in real stories and lived experience from people who’ve done it.

Big News! Haus of Owl: Creation Lab has been granted funds through the Victoria Music Strategy Grant to host monthly "Music Elevation Sessions".

The Music Elevation Sessions aim to catalyze Victoria’s music ecosystem by providing a series of 10 monthly events designed to elevate the local music community through networking, professional development, and targeted feedback sessions. Each event will comprise of 3 elements: Networking, Elevation Workshops, and Feedback Sessions.

Networking and Community Building:
These sessions will unite Victoria’s diverse music industry stakeholders—musicians, producers, managers, venue owners, and more—to forge meaningful connections and collaborations. Where up-and-coming musicians can mingle with established industry veterans, exchange ideas, and potentially find collaborators or even future talent and staff.

Elevation Workshops:
Workshops and Q&A led by industry heavyweights on critical topics such as show booking, music launch strategies, and sustainable tour planning, providing practical skills for navigating the music industry.

Feedback and Career Development:
Provide a unique opportunity for local artists to receive constructive feedback from a panel of esteemed music industry professionals. This platform not only enhances artistic growth but also fosters potential collaborations and future career opportunities.

The 3rd floor studio space is large (9' x 13') and bright with massive windows and 12' ceilings. Ready for a filmmaker, photographer, songwriter, or producer to get in there and start creating something beautiful. The space is perfect for a single artist or for a group of up to 4 artists. *Priority and subsidy given to artists from under represented groups* *CONTACT FOR PRICING*

This space is open to any style of media-artist but we are particularly interested in hearing from:
