My first 10 months on Substack made me $0.
2 years later: 10,000 subscribers and $100/day in digital product sales.

Here’s the timeline nobody talks about:

Before Substack, I tried Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube. Burned out on all of them because it was too much to manage across so many platforms.

When I finally went all-in on Substack, I stopped spreading myself thin and committed to the long game.

Here’s what that actually looked like:

Months 1-3: Crickets.
Months 4-6: Fewer crickets.
Months 7-12: Slow momentum.
Months 12-24: Compounding begins.
Months 24+: Opportunities start to emerge.

You’re not behind.
You’re exactly where you need to be.

It just takes longer than the gurus lead us to believe.

So why did I start posting on LinkedIn again?

Because I believe that every creator and coach should start their own Substack in 2026.

If you’re willing to commit for 2+ years while everyone else quits after 90 days, it’s the best platform you can build on.

Soon I’ll be 38 years old.

Most of my 20s were spent starting businesses, searching for ‘the thing’

Then at 30 I took on $100,000 debt closing a business.

An identify crisis quickly followed.

At 35 I discovered writing.

Published a book at 36.

Became a speaker at 37.

Society made me believe I needed to ‘figure it out’ by 30.

Middle-age taught me the joy is the journey not the destination.
