I thought my autistic burnout was depression...
Before I knew I was autistic, I thought I was depressed, but everything I knew about depression didn't feel like it fit. I just didn't have another word for it.
Until I learned that autistic burnout exists and then it all made sense!
If you're autistic or on your own neurodivergent self-discovery journey, and not sure what you're experiencing, take a look at this diagram (another great one by Dr. Megan Anna Neff, AuDHD Psychologist ) to see what you align with (autistic burnout, depression, or both)
And inside my community space, BFP Burnout Recovery Hub, we're doing a deep dive every week in a series called "Understanding Neurodivergent Burnout" that breaks down autistic burnout, ADHD burnout, and how other neurodivergencies can experience burnout differently and what support can look like.
Next week, I'll be focusing on burnout vs depression and how they're connected, so if you'd like to join the community for the series or all the resources and support BFP Hub has to offer, check out the link in my bio ๐ค๐ซถ
