For Immediate Release:
Hey KW,
Based on the overwhelming positive feedback from my last post, I’ve decided to keep going and not give up (yet).
For years, we’ve been saying there’s nothing for the grown crowd who loves 90s–00s R&B, Hip Hop, and Reggae — not on a bigger scale with a clear vision for growth. Other nights exist (and big up to those putting in the work), but they tend to stay in lounges and small clubs.
Classic is different.
This is step one of a long-term roadmap to bring bigger shows, bigger artists, and bigger energy to KW.
The First Step:
On September 6th, we’re hosting CLASSIC — a 90s–00s throwback night built around the music, energy, and memories that raised us.
It’s happening at Republik in Cambridge, an upscale lounge with a killer dance floor and space for 200+ people to vibe out.
I plan to make this a regular series, depending on Republik’s availability.
Why This Matters:
The Montell Jordan promo showed there’s massive interest in these events — but as a community, our follow-through has been weak.
Here’s the truth:
KW is worth it.
The mindset of “I wouldn’t pay that in Kitchener” has to change. Cities like Manitoba and Saskatchewan are successfully hosting shows like these — so why can’t we?
We have the numbers. The Waterloo Region is 700,000+ people, and with surrounding areas, we’re well over 1 million.
And remember, the artist’s performance doesn’t change — it’s rehearsed months in advance. The only thing that changes is the energy WE bring as a crowd. And I believe KW can bring that 🔥.
The Roadmap
This isn’t just a monthly party — this is the foundation for something bigger:
If Classic gets your support, I’ll scale up to 500-person events with artists like Rupee, Kevin Lyttle, Blu Cantrell, etc.
If those hit? We’ll return to Centre in the Square with artists like Mýa, Next, 112, Blackstreet, etc.
And if the community keeps proving the demand? We'll step-up to The AUD for major names like Sean Paul, Shaggy, Ne-Yo, Flo Rida, etc.
Real talk:
This ONLY works with your support. There’s no corporate machine or government funding behind this (yet). It’s just me, putting in the work, because I believe we deserve this right here in KW — without having to drive to Toronto or elsewhere.
What to Expect at Classic:
Upscale lounge atmosphere with a great dance floor.
Complimentary photobooth to capture the throwback vibes.
Exclusive birthday & group packages:
4-person and 8-person bundles with bottles or beers + platters.
1 Private VIP Room (15 guests) — 3 bottles OR 36 beers + 3 platters — only one available!
Tickets:
$5 Early Bird (first 50 tickets — includes Eventbrite fees + HST).
$10 Regular Online (includes fees).
$15 Day-Of Online (includes fees).
$20 at the Door (cash).
Your Event, Your Say:
What’s great about this setup is YOU are the captain of this ship. I’m just the navigator. Tell me what you want — I’ll do what I can to make it happen.
I Need Your Input:
Does this roadmap work for YOU?
Can I count on YOUR support for this?
