Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) have reached a major milestone, with postal workers voting overwhelmingly to ratify new collective agreements.

According to CUPW, 89 per cent of Urban Postal Operations members and 85.9 per cent of Rural and Suburban Mail Carriers members voted in favour of the agreements, which will remain in effect until Jan. 31, 2029.

The vote ends nearly two years of bargaining, labour disruptions and uncertainty for postal customers, businesses and collectors across Canada.

Canadian exhibitors made a strong showing at BOSTON 2026, one of the world's premier philatelic exhibitions.

Leading the Canadian contingent was David L. Hobden, who captured the Grand Prix International for his exhibit In Defence of the Border – Canadian Military Mails 1667-1885. Canadian exhibitors also earned six Gold medals, six Large Vermeil medals, two Vermeil medals, four Large Silver medals and two Silver medals, while five one-frame exhibits received scores ranging from 80 to 90 points.

Canadians also played important roles behind the scenes, with Ingo Nessel serving as national commissioner, Sam Chiu and Ed Kroft serving on the international jury, and four Canadian dealers representing the country on the international bourse.
