Well… what a night at Route One Raceway for the dirt dog
Media crew !!

The 33D came out SWINGING—won both heat races like he owed the track money and they were trying to collect. That put us starting pole for the feature, with the 19D rolling off third after a solid pair of second and third finishes in his heats.

Green flag drops, and the 33D took off like a NOS bottle exploded under the seat. We led every single lap… until the LAST ONE 😭. Coming into turn 4, I must’ve hit a banana peel or started daydreaming about post-race pizza because I missed my mark just enough for second place to yeet his nose in and bounce me. Then here comes the 19D—like a smooth criminal—sliding by me too! We ended up third and David almost won the race losing by just 0.002 seconds. That’s like… the time it takes to blink or say ā€œdang it!ā€ in slow motion.

STILL—what a race! Not the win, but dang was it a barn burner. And shoutout to David for that slick move… I’m watching you šŸ‘€.

As for the Pro class… we stunk. We smelled so bad I think the track crew was looking for a gas leak. Let’s just say the only thing pro about that class tonight was how professionally bad we were. So we’re just gonna hit delete on that and pretend it didn’t happen.

Massive thanks to my pit crew superstars Ruby & Vanessa—they keep me (and the kart) running when I’d probably be out there duct-taping parts back together like a NASCAR dad on Facebook Marketplace.

And of course, none of this happens without our incredible sponsors who help us afford this very fast, very expensive hobby where we occasionally forget how to turn left:

- Dirt Dirt Media
- Leavitt Machinery
- Goodreau Tree Care
-Tom Dick Farms
-Rusty Gate Motorsports
-Bowman’s Feed
-Robinson Motorcycle
- Bonneau Built Manufacturing
- Old Crow fab, and performance
- Lil Hills coffee shop
- Hook’s Stomping
- Corner Speed Shop
- Technisteel Inc.
- Thank$ Dad
- Thanks Mom & Steve
- Aunt Jackie
-Grandma’s Cookies (fuel of champions)
- Gram and Gramps
-Erika Simpson

On to the next one! Maybe next time we’ll actually cross the line first… or at least not get passed by our own teammate on the last corner again šŸ˜…

šŸ”„ The summer heat’s rollin’ in and so is the real racing! šŸ”„

The 33D is holding strong in 2nd place in both the Clone Trophy and Pro Clone 375 classes – but we’re not settling for silver šŸ
And don’t sleep on the 19D, sitting 4th in Clone Trophy and ready to climb šŸ’Ŗ

The standings are tight, the temp is rising, and these next few months are where the champs separate from the chasers. Let’s turn up the heat – literally and figuratively. It’s go time 😤

Let’s get ready to put on a show this summer – real racing, real close, real fast.

WEEKEND RECAP: Route One Raceway Two-Day Show
Our first two-day show of the year at Route One Raceway is in the books—and it definitely gave us a little bit of everything.

FRIDAY:
Rain tried to ruin the party, but the track crew wasn’t having it. They worked like maniacs to get the surface ready, and somehow, we got most of the show in before the skies opened up again.

The 33D started on the hammer for the Clone Trophy Race… dove into turn one… and immediately learned the track was way wetter than I thought. Kart went straight, everyone else went left, and I gave a solid impression of a beginner playing Mario Kart. Still brought it back to 3rd somehow! David struggled to find speed but clawed his way to 4th.

SATURDAY – Stew Massender Memorial:
Beautiful weather (finally), but with the rain the night before, the track was slicker than a greased pig on roller skates. No grip anywhere—but honestly, that made it kinda fun.

Running two classes means double the laps, double the chances to learn—or mess up. Luckily, we did more learning than anything. David had his first experience racing on a slick track and did awesome—started 3rd and finished 3rd in the 25-lap feature.

I started 2nd and finished 2nd—just couldn’t get to the leader to make a move. For the 53-lap main event, I locked in 4th after finishing 2nd and 3rd in the heats. Knew it’d be a long race, so the plan was to stay calm and not drive like it was lap 53 on lap 3… which apparently some guys didn’t hear, because we got shuffled back to 10th pretty early.

Worked my way back up to 5th, then settled for 6th—and honestly, I’m stoked about it. Best racing day of my career. Stayed on the lead lap, didn’t wad it up, and had a blast.

Big thanks to my A-team crew:
Ruby
Vanessa
Big Mac
You guys are the real MVPs—seriously couldn’t do it without you.

And of course, all the amazing sponsors who keep this whole deal rolling:
• Dirt Dirt Media
• Leavitt Machinery
• Goodreau Tree Care
• Tom Dick Farms
• Rusty Gate Motorsports
• Bowmans Feed
• Robinson Motorcycle
• Bonneau Built Manufacturing
• Old Crow Manufacturing
• Lil Hills
• Hook’s Stomping
• Corner Speed Shop
• Technisteel Inc.
• Thanks Dad
• Thanks Mom & Steve
• Aunt Jackie
• Grandma’s Cookies
• Gram & Gramps
• Erika Simpson

On to the next one! Hopefully dry, definitely rowdy, and still chasing that top spot.
