DAILY Ⓜ️ANNA - (A DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE FOR ADULTS)

TUESDAY 13TH JANUARY, 2026

OF GOOD RECORDS AND REPORTS
TEXT:RUTH 2:8-14

KEY VERSE: "And Boaz answered and said unto her, It hath fully been shewed me, all that thou hast done unto thy mother in law since the death of thine husband: and how thou hast left thy father and thy mother, and the land of thy nativity, and art come unto a people which thou knewest not heretofore" (RUTH 2:11).

Reports and track records are vital. Good track records open doors to opportunities. When professional human resource experts are hiring for a position of high responsibility, they go beyond a well-packaged résumé. Often, this entails obtaining a report about the candidate from their previous employers. In some cases, the recruiters track the candidate's digital footprint in a bid to gather vital information that will enable a quality decision.

In today's text, when Boaz said to Ruth, "It hath fully been shewed me, all that thou hast done unto thy mother-in-law since the death of thine husband..." he was referring to and a track record. The story about Ruth's commitment, faithfulness, and tenacity had spread ahead and made a way for her. Boaz's soft spot for her was, therefore, based on this report. He spoke kindly to her, permitted her to follow his reapers, and ordered them to treat her well. Ruth felt flattered by such generosity extended to a Moabitess. In the Eastern style, she bowed herself before him. Boaz further demonstrated piety in his prayerful response: "The LORD recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust."

In all these, we can see the blessedness of having a good report. In 3 John 1:12, it was reported that "Demetrius hath good report of all men, and of the truth itself..." Every believer is expected to have a good track record wherever he goes, dwells or works. This is why it was made part of the criteria for the appointment of a bishop in the early church, "Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil" (1 Timothy 3:7). Indeed, we must constantly weigh our thoughts and actions on the scale of "whatsoever things are of good report." Tabitha, was said to be "full of good works and almsdeeds."

We are all creating records - good or bad. How conscious are you about the record your life is producing? If we let in the grace of God, we will become bastions of good works and obtain genuine godly reputation that glorifies God.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:God keeps record about you - and men too. What is it like?

Beloved in Christ,
Grace, mercy, and peace be multiplied unto you in the unfailing name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I write to you today concerning a truth that stands firm through all generations—a truth that storms cannot shake, trials cannot weaken, and time cannot alter: God is faithful.

From the foundation of the world, the faithfulness of God has been the anchor of His people. He does not change with the seasons, nor does His word expire with circumstances. When man fails, God remains constant. When friends become unreliable, when resources dry up, and when our strength seems insufficient, the faithfulness of God becomes our refuge and assurance.

Beloved, remember that our God is not a man that He should lie, nor the son of man that He should repent. Every word spoken from His mouth is a covenant sealed with His character. His promises are not built on shifting sands but on the unshakeable foundation of His nature. What He says, He performs. What He begins, He completes. What He declares, He establishes.

Pause for a moment and consider your journey. Look back at the moments you felt forgotten, yet He remembered you. Recall the nights you cried, yet He comforted you. Think on the battles you thought you would lose, yet He fought for you. Even when your faith was weak, His faithfulness upheld you.

The faithfulness of God is both a shield and a guarantee. It is the assurance that your prayers are not in vain, that your labor in righteousness is not wasted, and that your destiny cannot be aborted by the plans of the enemy. His faithfulness watches over you, guides you, corrects you, protects you, and leads you into the fullness of His purpose.

Therefore, I urge you, brethren, do not allow present challenges to blind you to God’s eternal reliability. Do not measure God by your emotions or by the length of your waiting season. Even in silence, He is faithful. Even in delays, He is faithful. Even in the furnace of affliction, He remains faithful.

Build your hope not on what you see, but on who He is. For the faithfulness of God is not dependent on the faithfulness of man. Though we stumble, He remains steadfast. Though we fall short, His mercy endures. Though we are unfaithful, He cannot deny Himself.

Let your heart therefore rest in this truth:
The God who carried you this far will not abandon you now.
He is the God of covenant keeping, the God of promise fulfilling, the God of endless mercy and unbroken commitment.
May His faithfulness continue to surround you like a shield.
May His promises become your confidence.
May His presence be your peace.
And may His goodness follow you all the days of your life.

In the unchanging faithfulness of Christ,
Amen.

We were told to be wise as serpents, harmless as doves. We must not forget one of their physical characteristics: they serve as a threat to humans and animals. They want to bite and transfer their poisonous substance into the body, which must be treated immediately. If left untreated, it affects the blood and can lead to death.
Some people are like doves, appearing gentle on the outside but snakes within, looking for where to bite and leave a lasting negative impact.

DAILY Ⓜ️ANNA DEVOTIONAL FOR TODAY

TOPIC: WASHED BY HIS BLOOD

TEXT: REVELATION 5:8-10

KEY VERSE:
And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation" (REVELATION 5:9).

The Guardian_ reported a story on October 25, 2022, about Amou Haji, dubbed "The World's Dirtiest Man", who died at the age of 94 in his native town of Dejgah, Iran, on October 23, 2022. What's Haji's path to fame? Not bathing for over 60 years! He was a hermit, living alone in an ash covered, cinder block shack. It is reported by locals that he survived by eating roadkill and smoking animal faeces in a pipe, all the while, believing that bathing would make him ill. Amazingly, Haji lived a long and mostly healthy life; until locals finally convinced him to bathe and seek medical examination. A few months later, Haji grew ill and died. No, bathing did not kill Haji, as some have speculated, but neither did it save him. He was an old man. Death comes to us all, regardless of our personal hygiene habits.

There is a sense in which we all have much more in common with Haji than just our inevitable mortality. The truth is, spiritually speaking, we are all filthy. No amount of soap and water can wash away the sin that soils, defiles, and darkens our souls. Yet, unlike the ineffectual soap and water the locals used to try to cleanse Haji from his filthy past, there is a washing and renewing which cannot only cleanse us from our past, but also grant us ultimate spiritual health and eternal life. This cleansing agent is the blood of the sinless, Paschal Lamb of God, as detailed in our text today. Jesus is the only one qualified and capable to open the book with seven seals, which no man could open. He is the one who paid the penalty for our sins and died for us on the cross at Calvary.

The Lamb of God was introduced to the world by the forerunner, John the Baptist. John was the first to use the term "The Lamb of God" in describing Jesus, the only begotten Son of God. The lamb in the Old Testament, up to this time, was from the flock, but Jesus is the Lamb from God. Of importance too is the fact that the lamb of the levitical sacrifices can't even take away sins completely, but atones for them presently, only for the candidate to come back another day for another sacrifice for sins. Contrariwise, the Lamb of God takes away the sins of, not just a person, a city or a nation, but the sins of the whole world. The blood possesses the active cleansing agent to purge the conscience from dead works to serve the living God.

All we need to be saved is just to behold the Lamb of God by faith. "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Spirit." The Lamb has already been slain. The sacrifice has been offered and accepted. The prayers for our salvation has already been made, and our salvation is complete. All that a sinner needs is to repent of sins, believe and receive Him by faith, and be saved.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
The blood of Jesus, by which we were purchased, purifies and perfects us.
