Big News — “Save the World” Wins Best Human Rights’ Film

The music video Save the World has been awarded Best Human Rights’ Film at the San Francisco Arthouse Short Festival.

The project was created to highlight themes of empathy, unity, and the importance of human connection. Its recognition in a human rights category reflects the message at the heart of the film.

I’m incredibly honoured to share that my music video “Walking Each Other Home” has been officially selected for the Oregon Short Film Festival — my 6th festival selection on FilmFreeway.

This one means a lot to me… not just because of the message behind the song, but because of how the film came together. I couldn’t have created this without Supun Wijesundera, my editor and true co-creator. His vision, talent, and emotional sensitivity are woven into every frame. I’m grateful for his partnership and the art we are building together.

On July 4, 2025, flash flooding along the Guadalupe River in Kerr County, Texas, claimed the lives of at least 135 people across several communities and left a devastating impact on families and the entire state.

I recently visited the memorial in Kerrville, Texas, and was heartbroken by what I saw. From that moment came Hill Country Strong — a song of remembrance, sorrow, and love.

Dedicated to the men, women, and children who lost their lives that night, and to the families they left behind.
