I just got a memory that this video was THREE years ago. 🥹

For those who haven’t been here from the start, let’s talk about Remy.

Remy was supposed to be my multipurpose guide dog, and he had a wonderful start to his service dog training.

Unfortunately, we had a house fire during one of the most important periods of his development. Remy developed PTSD, and his anxiety around certain triggers meant he could no longer continue with public access training.

But guess what? He still blood sugar alerts for me at home and helps me with a few other tasks. ❤️ He may not have become the guide dog we originally planned for, but he’s still helping me in his own way.

It’s crazy to look back at this video from three years ago and realize we had absolutely no idea what was coming. Life can change so much in such a short amount of time.

Our boy is back home after spending the night at emergency Wednesday night and into Thursday afternoon 🥺❤️

It looks like it was a toxin, but we may never know for sure what happened. IV fluids helped get him back to himself, and we’re so thankful he’s doing good!

A huge thank you to Sage Creek Animal Hospital and Bridgwater Veterinary Hospital for taking care of our boy.

Today is World Sight Day.

Vision loss looks different for everyone. Some people are completely blind, some have low or usable vision, and everyone finds their own ways of getting through everyday life.

For some, that might mean a white cane. For others, a guide dog, technology, or a little extra support.

Today is a reminder to listen to the people actually living with vision loss, make the world more accessible, and remember that losing vision doesn’t mean losing the things you love or the life you want to live.

There isn’t one way to be blind or visually impaired. Every story counts.

Chex is barefoot, and I love having the option to protect his feet when we’re riding on harder ground, rocks, or different terrain. Keeping him comfortable while letting him stay barefoot is really important to me.

How has it been 11 years? It genuinely feels like yesterday. 🥹

11 years ago, Molly and I were matched, and I had no idea just how much she would change my life.

She started out as my seizure alert dog, and later, during the last little bit of her working career, she helped guide me too. She’s saved my life more times than I can count and has been there through some of the hardest parts of my life.

She’s my soul dog. There really is no other way to describe her. She’s one of a kind, and I’ll forever be grateful that I got her.

She may be retired now, but she’ll always be my girl. ❤️

And now I just have to hope my next dog is ready to fill some pretty damn big shoes. 🥹

“Nobody and I mean nobody can fully understand the meaning of love unless they’ve lived their life with a dog.”

Molly is my heart dog. She spent years by my side as my service dog, helping me through some of the hardest parts of my life. Now she’s happily retired and living her best spoiled life, but she’ll always be my shadow, my best friend, and such a huge part of who I am. ❤️

My future guide dog is going to be stepping into some very big shoes.
