LEVERS BTS: - honestly what a sick experience making this film. This is a behind-the-scenes shot of one of the days we shot out in Bird Hill, which was really amazing and fun. Honestly, it was such a pleasure to help craft this story and bringing it into reality. My credits on the film are varied but I’m proud most of all of co . Rhayne & Charlene are such hard working fearless visionaries. We got to celebrate the emergence of this work at & now it’s going to be as well as ! I hope people enjoy the experience as much as we did.
Just sitting around enjoying my weekend and wanting to upload some random pictures from my life so I decided to share this one! Good evening everybody.

I just wanted to share a quick update on the development of my first future film. Back in 2023 I decided that I wanted to make a sort of love story to the city that I visited frequently, Toronto. In 2020 during the pandemic, I decided that I want to start playing video games and shortly thereafter I settled on. and then became a streamer… these are all the basis for the story that I want to tell. These things were an amalgamated in my brain and I decided that I wanted to make a film about a young man who decides to take a journey to do something that is new and exciting. It took me 11 years to decide what that first feature film story was going to be. And now with this project, I am so excited to start on the journey of creating what I want that world to look like. This is just a mock up that I made today, but I think it looks pretty cool and I want to add more things to it, but my partner said that it was busy already lol. Anyway, eventually wanna commission someone to create a better version of this, but I do want it to be hand drawn, and I want to incorporate more elements of the story into it so people kind of understand what kind of film they’re going to watch.

Earlier this year, I was generously awarded the grant by and as I get closer to fulfilling that obligation I am so excited to share with the world what I have created! More to come!

Ps: the entirety of this image was sourced (skylines, cursor) by real places and although the image underneath “Gage” at the computer is AI generated (it’s a real image I asked AI to ‘clone’ it so it wasn’t a copywrite image) I then hand drew atop of it to make it my own art. The eye, words, little doodles are of my own creation and are meant to reflect a Cree style of art.

THE CREE/MER LOOKS.
POST: so since I am currently in Tkoronto, I wanted to take some time out of my extremely busy schedule to go around and start scouting Locations and finding inspiration for my first future. The feature is called ‘THE CREE/MER*. Originally this project is going to be stuck in Toronto, but after concentrating, I know that I want to work with my collaborators in Winnipeg I thought I would make it an amalgam of Toronto and Winnipeg.
The film will take place only in “The Big City” and the central character ‘GAGE’ will move from his rez to come (for the first time) from his home fire to “learn the cunning of the white man” (thank you for this new piece of info that I am going to work into my story!) after losing his grandmother 4 years prior to the start of the story. Gage has never lived outside of his community and since he can remember his grandparents were his parents. A story that is quite frequent in our communities. While this film is heavy with story it will remain sparse and appear to be void of dialogue. (I’m planning on making a companion narrative to serve as the exposition for what the audience may feel compelled to know about what they’re watching. The story was created in 2023 during & my love of this city. Since then I’ve graciously been funded by in writing the script that will serve as the story for this first work from myself as feature film director. The film is inspired visually by Wim Wenders’ ‘Perfect Days’ and the techniques of ’ ‘Tangerine’ (this footage was shot with an iPhone 13 & the project will be a guerilla shoot, in Toronto anyway).

I’m so excited to be completed the journey with with her work which was the first film I’ve ever (co) produced.

As I continue my journey in filmmaking, I am so excited to take the over decade of experience I have and apply it to this specific work. 10 short films. Awards, notoriety & speculation has left a lot of people wondering “what will Olly do in this sphere as a director & writer?” Well- now you know if you didn’t. I’m coming for the “Hollywood Model” with 😉

Oh my God, I’m so bad at social media! I can’t believe it’s August already and I told myself I was gonna post maybe a week or two after an event that I took a lot of pictures at but here I am two months later deciding that I have to do this as I am trying to finish some laundry.

II happened in Mid-June! and I flew from one side of Canada to its center! I was so happy to be in my home territory with all my wonderful film friends and family! was in school so he couldn’t come but Charlene brought Catie, well, did & too! We went down as a little crew & had a BLAST second time in a row at the festival. Met some amazing people & saw familiar and appreciated faces!
, , , & everyone else thank you so much for making us feel welcomed and spending time with us enjoying the prairies! Ekosi!

Good evening all, in 2 weeks time I will be mentoring a ‘Run & Gun’ Camera & Lighting club for the I will write the film project & be there to share my knowledge and experience.

For this specific project I am looking for 1/2 (max 3, but i can add more just want to make sure of availability) *non-union actors* for a volunteer shoot & who would be interested in doing a shoot over the space of about 4-5 hours for July 31st in the afternoon/evening.

For crew- as the poster suggests- we would like extra hands to help/observe & learn 🙂 I’ll be sharing some resources via Discord ( https://discord.gg/Gf5GSvvg ) if you are looking to shoot, or help shoot a short film, then come out and we will be providing snacks and food!

I may also be dropping in within the next week in the afternoon/evening at the Winnipeg Film Group to write the script for a writers club!
