✈️ Cheers at 30,000 Feet! 🍷🍺 Free Beer & Wine Now in Economy on Air Canada!

Yes β€” Air Canada now serves complimentary beer and wine (plus snacks) on all flights where they offer beverage service, and this applies to all Economy passengers without an extra charge as part of their standard onboard service.

Here’s what that means:

🍺 Beer & Wine β€” Complimentary beer and wine are served free to passengers of legal drinking age on all Air Canada flights where a drink service is provided.

🍷 Where it applies β€” This applies across:

Domestic Canadian flights
Flights to the United States
Flights to Mexico and the Caribbean
All flights operated by Air Canada, Air Canada Rouge, and Air Canada Express (Jazz) that have beverage service available.

🍽️ Snacks included β€” Along with the free beer and wine, Air Canada is also offering complimentary Canadian-made snacks as part of the service.

🍻 Non-alcoholic option β€” They also serve Heineken 0.0 (non-alcoholic beer) for free, making them unique among North American carriers.

⚠️ Responsible service β€” Alcohol is only served to passengers who have reached the legal drinking age and is managed responsibly onboard.

If you’re flying soon and want the latest details (including specific beers or wines offered), it’s a good idea to check Air Canada’s official onboard service page or your flight’s menu before departure.

✈️ Air India Pilot Offloaded in Canada After Failing Alcohol Check

Vancouver | December 23, 2025

An Air India pilot was removed from duty at Vancouver International Airport after Canadian authorities raised concerns about the pilot’s fitness for duty ahead of a scheduled long-haul flight to New Delhi.

πŸ”Ή The pilot was scheduled to operate Air India Flight AI186 (Vancouver β†’ Vienna β†’ Delhi)
πŸ”Ή Airport staff reportedly noticed a smell of alcohol, prompting authorities to intervene
πŸ”Ή Canadian officials conducted a breathalyser test, which the pilot failed
πŸ”Ή The pilot was detained and immediately offloaded from the flight
πŸ”Ή An alternate pilot was arranged, and the flight departed later after a delay

✈️ Air India’s Response Air India confirmed that the pilot was removed as a precautionary safety measure and stated that: βœ”οΈ Safety is the airline’s top priority
βœ”οΈ A zero-tolerance policy is followed for safety violations
βœ”οΈ An internal investigation has been launched
βœ”οΈ The airline is cooperating fully with Canadian authorities

πŸ“’ Regulatory Action Transport Canada has formally sought a detailed report from Air India and asked the airline to confirm disciplinary action by January 26, 2026.
India’s aviation regulator DGCA has also been informed of the incident.

⚠️ Aviation regulations strictly prohibit pilots from operating flights under the influence of alcohol. Violations can lead to grounding, licence suspension, or termination.

🧳 Passenger Impact Passengers experienced a delay while a replacement crew was arranged. The flight eventually operated safely.

πŸ“Œ No final disciplinary outcome has been announced yet. The investigation remains ongoing.
