3 As the heavens are high and the earth is deep, so the hearts of kings are unsearchable.
Proverbs 25

While true of kings and presidents, the wisdom of this proverb applies to all authority. Fathers make decisions for families. Business owners do things that employees don’t understand. Pastors oversee the flock of God with burdens, convictions, knowledge, and goals unknown to most of the members.

How can you apply the proverb? Honor leaders, even in your thoughts, even when their decisions look wrong (Eccl 10:20; I Kgs 12:1-4; I Pet 2:13-17). Honor your parents by respecting their rules and desires (Pr 30:17; Deut 27:16; Eph 6:1-3). Serve your masters as serving Christ, even when they are unfair (Eph 6:5-8; I Pet 2:18-23). Obey your pastor as one who has a deep, holy duty for your soul (Heb 13:7,17).

If you are concerned about the decisions being made and the future of your nation, then pray for your rulers. Do not criticize them – pray for them! This is the will of God for you, even when the rulers are oppressive pagans (I Tim 2:1-3; Jer 29:4-7; Ezra 6:10). Who cares about their agendas, since our God is totally in charge (Dan 2:20-22)!

There is one King we will never search out. He is the King of kings, our Lord Jesus Christ, “do we honor this King? Do we trust Him?

God bless you

9 Do not speak to fools,
for they will scorn your prudent words.
Proverbs 23

This proverb highlights the seriousness of foolishness and mockery. The verse teaches us that foolish schemes are not merely mistakes or poor decisions-they are sinful. The term “folly” here refers to a mindset that rejects wisdom and God’s guidance. When a person chooses to live foolishly, plotting evil or disregarding moral principles, it is not just unwise but sinful in God’s eyes.

A scorner is a pain and a problem. Their arrogant rejection of correction and instruction makes them impossible to teach (Pr 9:7-8). Their conceited resentment of teachers and reprovers makes peace impossible (Pr 22:10). They must be avoided or cast out.

Here are two matters of wisdom. First, keep our heart with all diligence, for sin begins with foolish thoughts (Pr 4:23; Jas 1:13-16). Search our heart and thoughts by prayer to reveal any evil there (Ps 139:23-24). Second, let us love instruction and reproof to avoid being a scorner. Humble ourself before the great God, His word, and His teachers.

4 By humility and the fear of the LordAre riches and honor and life.
Proverbs 22

We cannot have riches, honor, and life as a reward any other way. It is only thru humility and the fear of God as per this proverb. These are the necessary conditions for prosperity and success.

Humility is not about belittling ourselves; rather, it is about understanding our proper place in the world and recognizing that we are all part of something greater. It helps us to be open to learning and growing.

And the fear of the Lord is our deep respect & awe towards God. When we’re living in this kind of reverence, we tend to make choices that align with His will. That will lead to positive outcomes such us riches & honour.

10 The name of the Lord is a fortified (strong) tower;
the righteous run to it and are safe.
Proverbs 18

How strong is the tower?
Is this God a strong tower? There is no other God but Him! What is His name? What is that LORD with all capital letters?

It is the LORD Himself, with all His glorious attributes and perfections. He is the living and true God, Creator of heaven and earth, Father of the fatherless, and Judge of the widow. Yes, it is that God. His name is the LORD. Do you know Him well?

No matter what our fears or troubles, in time or eternity, the LORD is our strong tower, and He will save us. “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).

It is the name of Jesus, before which every knee shall bow (Phil 2:9-11.

6 Children’s children are a crown to the aged, and parents are the pride of their children. Proverbs 17

Are you a parent? Child? Grandparent? Grandchild? All four? Have you fulfilled your God-given role to promote a great and glorious family? Is your family a glory to God and a living testimony of the truth? Or do you consider your family a burden?

You have a wonderful opportunity to both crown yourself and be glorious.

Fathers are to train their children (Eph 6:4). Children are to obey and honor their parents (Eph 6:1-3). Fathers are to secure an inheritance for their children (Pr 13:22; 19:14; II Cor 12:14). Grandchildren are to rise up and honor their grandparents (Pr 16:31; Lev 19:32). Grandfathers should oversee it all to fulfill their great calling and leave a heritage.

As we fulfill our duties toward our home, let’s do the same in our church and related churches (I Thess 4:9-10; Heb 13:1-3) for we are part of the family of God (Eph 3:14-15).

24 Gracious words are a honeycomb,
sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.
Proverbs 16

Do our words promote health? Do we heal others by kind encouragement, wise counsel, and gentle comfort? Or our words like a piercing sword (Pr 12:18)? Do we leave others bleeding with caustic, critical, calloused, or condemning words? And do we then pour in salt, when we are told to only season our speech with it (Col 4:6)?

Who can deny that God’s words are sweet? Are they not sweeter than honey (Ps 19:10; 119:103)? Do they not cause joy and rejoicing in your heart (Jer 15:16)? They are so sweet that those speaking them are described as having beautiful feet (Rom 10:15). Can you remember the sweetness to your soul of hearing the true gospel with understanding?

There is great power in the tongue, (Pr 18:21). How will we use it today? We will eat the fruit of how we use it – life or death. Every man shall bear his own burden.

God bless you

7 The lips of the wise spread knowledge,
but the hearts of fools are not upright.
Proverbs 15

Your speech is evidence of your character, and it determines your influence in the world. Wise men use their mouths to spread knowledge, but the speech of fools helps no one. If you are wise, others will benefit by your words; if you are foolish, others will not profit. You need to choose wisdom for yourself and then choose to also share it with others.

Words carefully chosen and wisely spoken are beautiful, for which both God and men will hold you in high esteem and favor (Pr 12:14,18; 15:23; 16:13,24; 22:11; 24:26; 25:11). Wise men use such words to feed many (Pr 10:21; 11:30). They are trees of life to those around them, but fools are traps of sin and death (Pr 15:4).
How many do you feed?

In this world, ignorance abounds, and others need you. Will you disperse the knowledge of God today with your mouth? Or will you fill the air with noise and foolishness? Remember this warning of Jesus Christ: “But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment” (Matt 12:36).

3 No one can be established through wickedness,
but the righteous cannot be uprooted. Proverbs 12

Believers may be discouraged under persecution, or when seeing evil people enjoying temporary prosperity (Psalm 73:2–3). Followers of Christ can take comfort in knowing that blessing comes to the righteous, whereas punishment comes to the wicked (Hebrews 4:13; Revelation 20:11–15). Believers are secure in the Lord's hands.

As children of the Most High God, we all share our Heavenly Father’s “genetic” code. We’re not alone. Knowing we’re all connected as one Body should give us comfort. And, it should also encourage us to stay connected with our brothers and sisters.
We can learn so much from each other. We can help each other be accountable, and comfort and support one another.
We’re no trembling soul surrounded by evil giants. We are rooted by the Creator of the Universe, and that’s very secure and no way can be uprooted.

God bless you

8 The righteous person is rescued from trouble, and it falls on the wicked instead.
Proverbs 11

This proverb does not teach or suggest that the righteous are exempt from trouble in this life. And nowhere in the Bible, are the righteous excused from trouble. It does actually speaks of the universal inevitability of trouble in the Book of Job. (Job 5:7, Job 14:1) Trouble is a part of life for each of us – it arrives early and accompanies us to death. And we can increase trouble in our lives by foolishness, wickedness and carelessness but it will come even in the absence of those mistakes.

Bible paints many pictures of the righteous right in the middle of trouble. The Psalmist often referred to his “day of trouble” or to his “time of trouble.”

Righteousness will not result in a trouble-free life but it will bring Divine deliverance in times of trouble. Wickedness certainly won’t produce a trouble-free life either but it will invite destruction in times of trouble.

Choose righteousness! Choose the Lord!
Philippians 3:9 and be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in[a] Christ—the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith.

11 For through wisdom[a] your days will be many,
and years will be added to your life.
proverbs 9

Do you want to live a long life? The world chases living longer in all sorts of ways at great expense in effort, time, and money, but wisdom can easily preserve and extend your life with only modest effort.

Here is the general rule from the God of heaven – if you love and practice wisdom, you will live longer. But if you choose to ignore or reject wisdom, you must love death, for it is coming for you (Pr 8:36). It will not matter if you eat well, exercise sufficiently, and have good doctors; God will cut you down for your foolish rebellion (Pr 13:9; 24:20).

Another factor beyond the natural consequences of folly and wisdom; there is the sovereign government of God. He gives long life supernaturally for wise choices like honoring parents (Eph 6:1-3) and showing mercy to brute creatures (Deut 22:7). Our Creator can easily shorten or lengthen our life, and our obedience is a key factor.

35 For those who find me find life and receive favor from the Lord.
36 But those who fail to find me harm themselves; all who hate me love death.”.
Proverbs 8

Here is a treasure of blessings! What more could you want? It offers you life and God’s favor.

The God of heaven has revealed Himself to you in creation. Wisdom has spoken to you from the book of Proverbs. The Bible is the only source of righteousness, truth, and wisdom in the world, and its primary message is the supreme authority of the Lord Jesus Christ as the Son of God.

The greatest life and blessing is found believing on Jesus Christ. He said, “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly” (Jn 10:10). He said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (Jn 14:6). Fellowship with God and fullness of joy are two marks of this great life (Jn 15:11; I Jn 1:3-4), and it ends in everlasting life inheriting the universe with Jesus Christ (Rom 8:17).

God bless you
