And as promised, Morbier has arrived.
It’s with both joy and sorrow that we give you this last wheel of Morbier.
If you saw our recent post, you know about a virus impacting European cattle and thus impacting the importation of raw milk cheeses into Canada from France, Switzerland and Italy, that were produced after May 25th (May 23rd for Italy).
We can’t know when this may resolve, we can only hope that it will for the sake of the animals, cheesemakers and cheese lovers, but we do know that there are certain cheeses we will not see this holiday season.
There may be pasteurized options where feasible.
We will do our best to keep you informed as we learn more.
In the meantime, savour a wedge of this iconic French cheese and hope for better times ahead.
