UVA unequivocally condemns the physical altercation and stands with DJ Tunez and all industry professionals in their right to a safe and respectful working environment.
However, UVA expresses concern over the Nigerian DJ Association’s nationwide ban on Burna Boy’s music, highlighting that artistic expression is a fundamental right. Censorship in response to personal conduct risks undermining cultural participation and sets a dangerous precedent.
UVA calls on the Nigerian music industry to reject violence, promote mutual respect, and defend freedom of artistic expression.
