Nord-Kivu : le porte-parole militaire du M23, W***y Ngoma, tué dans une frappe de drone à Rubaya

Le porte-parole militaire de la coalition rebelle AFC-M23-RDF W***y Ngoma, a été tué dans une frappe de drone attribuée aux FARDC, mardi 24 février 2026 aux environs de 2h40 du matin, dans la cité minière de Rubaya, en territoire de Masisi (Nord-Kivu), selon une source locale.

D’après les informations recueillies sur place, la frappe a visé une maison d’habitation située dans la ferme de Kasuku. Deux combattants étrangers présentés comme des mercenaires blancs auraient également été tués lors de cette attaque. Au total 9 corps ont été comptés dans les décombres.

Le général Sultani Makenga, chef militaire du mouvement rebelle, aurait été blessé, selon la même source.

Cette opération intervient alors que les Forces armées de la République démocratique du Congo intensifient la pression militaire autour du carré minier stratégique de Rubaya, zone clé pour l’exploitation du coltan passé sous occupation des rebelles mardi 30 avril 2024.

La mort de W***y Ngoma constitue un coup dur pour le M23, dont il était à la fois le visage médiatique et le principal porte-voix militaire.
