One thing this FAO project has reminded me:
The hardest part of data analysis is not building the dashboard.
It’s asking the right questions.
Over the past few weeks, I’ve been working with agricultural data to explore food security trends across African countries.
At first, I thought the challenge would be technical:
* Cleaning the data
* Building the Power BI dashboard
* Creating visualizations
But as I progress, I realize the real challenge is different.
It’s deciding which questions matter most.
For example:
* Is agricultural production growing fast enough to meet future demand?
* Which countries are making the most progress?
* Which indicators best reflect food security?
* What patterns should policymakers pay attention to?
A dashboard can display hundreds of numbers.
But meaningful analysis starts with identifying the few indicators that truly matter.
That’s what I’m currently working on in this project.
Not building charts.
Building understanding. I’ll continue sharing insights as the dashboard develops.
For those working with data:
What’s more difficult in your experience: finding the data, cleaning the data, or asking the right questions?
