the main objective of teaching and learning is ( to communicate ). there are two categories of methods : traditional methods and innovative methods . traditional methods are based on output ( eg: Direct Method consists of learning language in that language that is being learnt ) whereas innovative methods are based on both output and input. (eg: Total Physical Response consists of learning language by using gestures and speaking so that the learner can learn freely .) nutshell , innovative methods are more important than traditional ones because they are dealing with both sides whereas traditional ones are dealing with one ( output ) only .
