Hemet Religious Leader Arrested for Murder | Missing Men & Child Death Linked to Church Group

A shocking and developing case out of Hemet, California has rocked the religious community and raised serious questions about accountability in faith-based organizations.

Authorities have arrested Darryl Martin, the leader of His Way Spirit Led Assemblies, and Rudy Moreno on suspicion of murder, according to jail records. Investigators believe the religious group may be connected to the disappearance of two men and the death of a 4-year-old child in Colton, California.

One of the missing men, Emilio Salem Ghanem, reportedly left the organization shortly before vanishing after meeting someone at a Redlands coffee shop in 2023. Another member of the group was reported missing in Claremont in 2019, raising concerns of a disturbing pattern.

Police previously served a search warrant at a Hemet property tied to the group, and arrests were made at that same location.
