The International Women’s Day was commemorated with great fervor at the University of Okara (UO), where the female faculty members organized a seminar while the students presented handicrafts and other cultural goods in an exhibition. The keynote speaker of the event was Begum Shehnaz Zafar, an entrepreneur, who shared her success story with the female teachers and students, encouraging them to exhibit their inherent capabilities and excel in all walks of life. The Vice Chancellor of UO Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zakria Z***r, in his special message regarding this day, said that Okara’s 70 percent students comprise of female and hence, this institution is playing a pivotal role in bridging the gender gap in the region.
