🎶✨ The first review of Dmitry Wild's new album, Vintage Tales, and it's a doozy, written by Jack Rabid of The Big Takeover hisself! Check it out and discover why you won’t want to miss the release party on Thursday, June 26 at No Fun in Troy with Blase DeBris, and The Dionysis Effect on the bill!

This whole LP is wild and wooly stuff for sure! It’s all amped up, needles-in-red, tight and slamming, yet it feels like it’s somehow falling apart (how do you do that trick?), with gobs of ’50s rockabilly and sax-honking R&B like it oozed out a swampy bayou backroom where Screaming Jay Hawkins and The Legendary Stardust Cowboy tend bar, into Cramps-like unhinged psychobilly. (Though sometimes it’s like Nick Cave mugged Lux Interior.) Begin with 'Rock-n-Roll" (“is my business”—no argument there!) if you too are also a sucker for horns and a Hawkins-like mad cackle, or the “Savoy Truffle” gone Sun Ra dirty horns of “Son of a Gun.” Though i would like to hear Eddie Izzard sing "Euros” like he did "Being For the Benefit of Mr. Kite!"
