“All on the Floor Out,” a poem by P. Staff (P. Staff), recounts a dream of spilling guts (and ge****ls), set to footage of a sewer inspection in the artist’s home. As an endoscopic camera crawls through a pipe, forcing its way past grit and grime, the poem’s narrator confesses, “it’s never felt good / to be so close to the skin.”
Staff’s meditations sync to the rhythmic chug of the camera’s descent—a heartbeat that enhances the sensation of the lens probing some “slippery bodied” organism.
The video documents Staff’s reading on March 28, 2026, at Holes Marathon, Los Angeles, a collaboration between Triple Canopy (Triple Canopy) and Active Cultures (Active Cultures) hosted by Los Angeles’s 2220 Arts + Archives (2220 Arts + Archives).
