Nominations are open — MDPI Sustainability Foundation Awards 2027

The MDPI Sustainability Foundation is now accepting nominations for its two flagship awards, recognizing outstanding contributions to sustainability research and leadership:

🏆 World Sustainability Award (WSA) — 100,000 USD prize, recognizing a senior researcher for sustained international impact. Third-party nominations only.

🌱 Emerging Sustainability Leader Award (ESLA) — 20,000 USD prize, recognizing an early-career researcher for exceptional promise and impact. Self- or third-party nominations accepted.

Award recipients receive international recognition, a monetary prize, and an invitation with attendance support to WSF-13 (2027), where they will be officially honored at the Award Ceremony.

Joining our keynote lineup at WSF-12 is Dr. Michael West Mehaffy, an internationally recognised scholar in sustainable urbanism, urban regeneration, and evidence-based approaches to architecture and urban design. 🏙️

With ten academic appointments across eight countries, Dr. Mehaffy brings a uniquely global and practice-informed perspective to WSF-12's conversations on resilient, sustainable cities.
