Day 3 of IOCEA 2026 marked a successful conclusion to an inspiring conference! 🌎

🔍We started the day with Session 7: Air Quality and Climate Pollutants, chaired by Prof. Dr. Alexander A. Baklanov.
• Prof. Dr. Sergei P. Smyshlyaev, the Invited Speaker shared an excellent presentation on air quality changes in Northern Russia and the Arctic using WRF-Chem model.
• Selected speakers contributed with strong research on aerosols, air quality, and urban atmospheric processes under changing environmental conditions.

🔍The morning session was followed by the Flash Poster Session. The poster presentations covered a wide range of topics from across the different sessions of the conference.

🔍In the afternoon, Session 4: Water in a Changing World: Hydrology, Hydro-AI & Resources was chaired by Dr. Lampros Vasiliades and Dr. Yiannis Panagopoulos.
• We were honored to welcome Prof. Dr. Steven R. Fassnacht for a keynote presentation on the scales of snowpack variability.
• The selected speakers delivered impressive research on topics ranging from flood and extreme rainfall prediction to groundwater risk assessment and water reuse in arid regions.

✨Day 2 of IOCEA 2026 has officially wrapped up!

🔍In the morning, we started with two sessions:
• Session 2. Coastal & Ocean Systems: Ecology, Resources & Conservation, led by Session Chair Dr. David Kevin Woolf, welcomed amazing presentations from our selected speakers.
• S8. Geothermal & Geo-resources for the Energy Transition, chaired by Prof. Dr. Benjamin McLellan. The Session started with a wonderful presentation from our Invited speaker, Dr. Eun Young Lee, which was followed by speeches on advances in resource exploration

🔍In the afternoon, Session 6. Landscapes, Geoheritage & Human Interactions, was chaired by Prof. Dr. Karoly Nemeth and Prof. Dr. Ignacio J. Diaz-Maroto.
• The session featured two amazing invited presentations by Prof. Dr. Ignacio J. Diaz-Maroto and Dr. Marie-Noelle Guilbaud, exploring geoheritage, landscapes and interdisciplinary research.
• The selected speakers further contributed with presentations focused on geospatial approaches to land management, landscape and geoheritage.

✨Day 1 of IOCEA 2026 wrapped up successfully!

🔍We opened with welcoming remarks from our Event Chairs, Prof. Dr. Charles Jones and
Prof. Dr. Riccardo Buccolieri.
• Session 1: AI and Big Data in Earth Science, led by Session Chair Prof. Dr. Eliseo Clementini, welcomed with an engaging keynote presentation by Dr. Yan Zhang.
• This was followed by a series of high-quality contributions covering AI and machine learning applications in geospatial science, remote sensing, and environmental monitoring.

🔍In the afternoon, Session 5. Natural Hazards and Risk was chaired by Dr. Katsuichiro Goda and Prof. Dr. Rajib Shaw.
• The session featured two outstanding keynote presentations by Dr. Anawat Suppasri and Prof. Dr. Han-Ping Hong, addressing tsunami and seismic hazard assessment, risk mitigation, and building loss estimation.
• The selected speakers further contributed with amazing presentations focused on risk assessment, early warning, and socioeconomic impacts of natural hazards.

🔍In the same afternoon, Session 3. Climate Dynamics, Variability and Change was chaired by Prof. Dr. Paul E. Roundy.
• The session featured amazing presentations from the selected speakers, on climate variability and change, extreme weather events, glacier dynamics, drought impacts, and climate–environment interactions.
