🫀 Alcoholic vs. idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy—are they truly different?

This study by Vallejo-García et al. reveals a distinct CMR phenotype in alcoholic cardiomyopathy, characterized by greater myocardial fibrosis and right ventricular dysfunction compared with idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy.

The section welcomes submissions on topics including:
• Post-mortem imaging and virtopsy
• Forensic pathology and chemical analysis
• Molecular diagnostics for identification and kinship analysis
• Diagnostic techniques for trauma and injury assessment
• Advances in analytical technologies applied to forensic science

This new section aims to provide a platform for innovative research at the intersection of diagnostics, forensic medicine, and analytical science.
