I never said that.

Anju Rupal about SHIFT IN CONSUMERISM

”We can't carry on the way we are, depleting the resources of our planet just for profit.
It never made sense to me.
It took me a lot of courage to do what I am doing with Abhati.
I realized that it's not a quick fix.
It takes time.
But I think there is definitely a shift in consumerism,
where through the internet and social media,
we are looking to see provenance and transparency in brands.
And I think the all way that we are moving, you cannot build a business without that.
You cannot build a business without being able to lift up the curtain seeing what's happening behind it. ”

" I think for young people it's very important
to be inspired by someone, whoever that person is,
whatever the industry sector or organization.
Be inspired.
But then throughout my career, there were different people who made me think differently, who challenged me, with whom I shared experiences.
It's not necessarily hierarchical.
But it's critical to get inspiration outside from your comfort zone and outside your family.
The most amazing feedback I got is the feedback that helped me change behaviour or adapt.
I've had someone tell me a few years back, a while ago, that I was someone who didn't know how to say no, that I was always finding diplomatic ways to cater to the needs of everyone.
And I learned to say no in a very simple firm way: "No."
No, or no thank you, or thank you, no, thank you!
You get trained to do that.
It's also cultural, you don't say no.
Not being able to say no is the problem.
So I learned to do that."

Alvin Queen : Attention is the first key to anything

"I played with all the masters until they died.
You see the basics of music to younger musicians is old fashioned
and there’s no such thing as old fashioned.
It is the foundation.
If you can’t play the foundation then we can’t play as a group,
so this is what I look for and I suffer from today because I learn from the masters.
I know exactly what to do.
You don’t have to give me any music or anything.
I know because they forced it on me.
When I said what key?
- Never mind just follow.
I had to learn to pay attention that is the first key to anything.
It’s like looking at a young doctor
and look at an old doctor.
A young doctor starts off with a book.
An old doctor starts off with the eyes.
He reads the body.
Yes, but what test should I take?
Oh, I know the test, write this down.
He goes by a rhythm.
Why are you nervous?
Why are you so and so?
He’s reading you."
