The Lamborghini Countach has occupied a unique place in automotive culture for generations, not simply as a supercar, but as an object of aspiration.

For Jacques, that fascination began with a poster discovered at a book fair in the mid-1980s. The image depicted a triple-white Countach 5000, a specification so striking that it remained fixed in his memory long after the poster was hung on a wall.

Decades later, that same vision reappeared when a triple-white 1987 Countach surfaced at auction. What followed was not merely the acquisition of a collector car, but the realization of a dream carried across years of changing circumstances, careers, and priorities.

The story serves as a reminder that certain automobiles transcend their mechanical significance. They become markers of a particular moment, preserving the ambitions and imaginations of those who admired them long before ownership ever seemed possible.

For Taj Turner, the vision for his MkIV Toyota Supra survived theft, setbacks, and five years of relentless refinement. What began as a dream inspired by magazine pages eventually became a deeply personal interpretation of one of Japan’s most iconic performance cars.

Built around Ridox bodywork, BBS E88 wheels, twin-turbo power, and countless carefully considered details, the Supra is more than a collection of parts. It's the result of refusing to let the story end when the first car was stolen.

Issue 006 is in the mail.

This month, we celebrate the story of Caffeine & Carburetors and the man behind it all, Doug Zumbach. What began as a local Cars & Coffee gathering outside Zumbach’s Coffee has grown into one of the most recognized enthusiast events in the country.

Inside Issue 006, Roger Garbow traces that history and highlights the Automotive Assistance Fund, Doug’s charity helping repair vehicles for people in need.

If you missed picking up a copy at Caffeine & Carburetors this weekend, you’ll find them at Zumbach’s Coffee all month long—while they last.

There’s a certain sound that belongs only to old Lamborghinis.

A 5.7-liter naturally aspirated V12 sitting inches behind your head. Forty-eight valves singing through the trees with nothing muting the experience except distance. In the Diablo VT, that sound still traces its roots back to Giotto Bizzarrini’s original Lamborghini V12 architecture from 1963, an engine born from Ferruccio’s desire to challenge Ferrari on both the road and the track.

Before refinement became the priority, Lamborghini built cars that felt slightly untamed. The Diablo VT came from that era. Low, dramatic, mechanical, and unapologetically loud in a way modern performance cars rarely are anymore.

Some cars arrive in your life for a season. Others stay long enough to become part of who you are.

Ethan Moore’s 1995 BMW E36 M3 is one of those cars. Not preserved behind glass or treated as untouchable, but driven, lived with, and understood through years of ownership. The kind of relationship that turns a car from transportation into something far more personal.
