Our hearts are in mourning. Shamim was brutally killed in a knife attack while trying to stop his bicycle from being stolen. His life was taken cruelly, leaving his family and community heartbroken.

We respectfully but firmly ask that justice be done. Those responsible for this barbaric act must be quickly identified, arrested, and punished according to the law. No one should lose their life for trying to protect what belongs to them.

Shamim’s case cannot be just another statistic. He was part of our community — an honest worker who deserved to live safely in this country we all call home.
We urge the Government and authorities to strengthen public safety and show through concrete actions that every life — regardless of origin — matters in Portugal.
