I’m not a people-pleaser by default.
But there are people I find it hard to say no to.
And when I say yes too quickly—without checking in with my own energy or goals—I end up stretching myself thin.
That usually leads to overwhelm. And sometimes even resentment.
What I’ve had to learn is this:
Every yes is also a no.
When I say yes to something out of habit or pressure, I’m often saying no to what actually matters—rest, my priorities, or time with my family.
So now, I pause.
I ask: Does this align with what I want for this season?
And if not, I let it be a no.
Mini action → Take 5 minutes today:
What have you said yes to recently that didn’t serve you?
What’s one small no you can practice this week?
You don’t need to be available for everything.
You just need to stay available for what matters.
