Attending the Champs for Change "Behind the Game" event in Kigali was a reminder of how far the African sports industry has come and how much potential still lies ahead.

For too long, many people viewed sport as only what happens on the field of play. Today, sport is a real industry creating opportunities in media, marketing, technology, events, sponsorship, coaching, data, administration, investment, and much more.

Africa's greatest asset is its young population. Creating pathways for young Africans to access careers in sport isn't just good for the industry, it's essential for the continent's future.

A special shoutout to LYSD Miledou team for the incredible work they're doing out of Togo to help young people see, access, and build careers across the sports ecosystem via basketball.

This mission aligns closely with my own goal of helping more Africans understand and access opportunities in the business of sport.

The future of African sport won't only be shaped by athletes. It will be built by the professionals working behind the game.
