Just got back from Churchill, Manitoba, where I was filming PolarPreet and her training with Polar Explorer Eric Larsen for what might be the hardest expedition on Earth: a solo attempt to the North Pole.

Preet has already completed three solo expeditions in Antarctica and earned four Guinness World Records. Now she wants to ski to the North Pole across moving sea ice, open water, rough pressure ridges… and no chairs (I really miss chairs when I’m on expeditions) — plus -50°C conditions, basically almost 3x colder than your freezer.

Here’s the wild part: more than 7,000 people have summited Everest, and only a small number have ever made it to the Geographic North Pole from land on skis. That’s how rare and brutal this is.

PS: Fozzy stayed home with my beautiful wife, and I definitely missed them both — especially when it got really, really cold.
