THANKSGIVING MASS BY BACUDA MUTENGENE BRANCH

Today, 21st June 2026, the Bambui community in Mutengene gathered at All Saints Church, Buea Road, Mutengene for a thanksgiving Mass organized by BACUDA Mutengene Branch.

The Mass was offered:

- To thank God for His blessings,
- To pray for the repose of the souls of departed members, and
- To inaugurate and bless the branch’s new uniform.

Though not a very large branch, BACUDA Mutengene remains one of the strong pillars of BACUDA, with 47 active members and a proud history of commitment to community development and service. The branch has produced outstanding leaders, including Mr. Muchu Pius, former President General of BACUDA and former Chairman of the Bambui Village Council, as well as Barrister Tamukong Valentine, also a former President General of BACUDA.

As one of the five branches of BACUDA Joint Fako, Mutengene Branch continues to play an important role in strengthening unity and promoting the ideals of BACUDA. Under the leadership of BACUDA Joint Fako, the branch remains committed to the projects, activities, and development efforts of the Bambui community.

On this special occasion, BACUDA Mutengene Branch renews its dedication to service, unity, and progress.

We will continue to do all we can to bring everyone into the fold, because unity is strength.

Culture and development.

In the Bambui Fondom, the aspect of Culture is rooted in every family. Although Morden religious values have distorted some family cultural heritages, it still remains in the history of these families and a day must come when someone will stand up in those families to continue the works of their forefathers.

As for development, it is nothing new In The Bambui Fondom. All families are deeply involved and with no exceptions, all members, be you males or females are to pay their development levies annually. Any defaulters are slammed with heavy fines by the competent village authorities. This is what has made the Bambui fondom get to the level it is today.

Despite the heavy treats on defaulters, there is about 50% of the Bambui population who shy away from development activities and the payment of the annual Dues. Gradually, strategies are been put in place to track them. The Bambui anthem states it clear, if you don't follow your people, do not expect them in times of need.

In some towns, when you decide to stay away from Bambui people and development initiatives, you are completely on your own. This does not mean that the sanctions on the non-payment of development levies will not apply to you. In such a situation, your sanctions are even doubled. Participative Development is a Morden tool used by all administrations to help develop societies. We can't want a developed community and refuse to contribute to the development. Who then funds the development?? Who develops the society we are in ?? With whose money ??

Our Youths are to get more implicated in the development of our community. Get to the nearest BACUDA branch, get registered and pay you development Dues. This will secure your village developmen And help you and your own families.

Barrister Nwetum Christopher – A Dedicated Servant of the Bambui Community

Another key contributor to the success of the BACUDA Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Douala on 30th May 2026 was Barrister Nwetum Christopher, the current Secretary General of BACUDA.

His commitment to community service began at an early age through the Bambui Union Students (BUS). He was an active member of BUS at Comprehensive High School (CHS) Bambui from 1991 and remained actively involved through the University of Buea BUS Branch, where he served as one of its executive members from 1998 to 2001.

Upon completing his university education, Barrister Nwetum joined the BACUDA Mutengene Branch. Together with Idiifor/Barrister Tamukong Valentine and Tsehfor Yong Michael, he played a pivotal role in reviving the then struggling branch and restoring its vibrancy and relevance. BACUDA Mutengene Branch is now one of pillars on which BACUDA Joint Fako anchors.

Shortly after joining the branch, he assumed the position of Secretary and went on to become the longest-serving Secretary of BACUDA Mutengene Branch. He served diligently under the successive presidencies of Idiifor Tamukong Valentine and Tsehfor Yong Michael.

In 2021, he was entrusted with the leadership of the branch as President, a position he continues to hold with distinction. His dedication, organizational skills, and unwavering commitment to community development have earned him the respect and confidence of the BACUDA family.

Recognizing his leadership qualities and service record, the Bambui Community elected him Secretary General of BACUDA in 2022, a position through which he continues to contribute significantly to the advancement of the association and the development of Bambui.

Beyond community service, Barrister Nwetum Christopher is a seasoned legal practitioner with over fifteen years of standing at the Bar. He has consistently used his professional expertise in the service of his community. Notably, alongside the President General, he served as counsel for the Bambui Community in the criminal proceedings against those accused of killing a Prince of Bambui at Ndokah before the High Court of Mezam in the North West Region.

His journey reflects a lifetime of dedication, leadership, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to the welfare and progress of the Bambui people. His contributions continue to inspire younger generations to embrace community service and uphold the values of unity, responsibility, and development.

Another Figure behind the success of the 2026 BACUDA AGM.

Honourable Ntumfor Tibatim Cyprain Asogho.
He is a son of the Soil. He is a front line actor as far the development of the Bambui Fondom is concerned. He has been in active politics for almost 25 years and is not ready to retire anytime soon. To him, Bambui and Tubah comes before anything. As far as his Electoral constituency is concerned, Ntumfor is always ready to go fight for his people at any level.

Ntumfor has been the YCPDM Section president from 2006 -2016, He has Donated football trophies(Tournaments) in various villages of the Bafut-Tubah constituency just to boost the development of the various communities in times of crisis.

At the start of each academic year, He ensures that, He Donates exercise books and text books to primary and secondary schools children around his constituency. He is so much concerned about the academic welfare of his people and has promised to stop at nothing to see that he gets his people educated.

Ntumfor in his capacity as a community builder, in 2020 was voted in the Regional Assembly of the North West. Since then, his Achievements are just there to speak for him. From one development forum to another and from one lobby mission to another. As far as his Achievementd as a member of the house of Assembly is concerned;
He lobbied alongside other Bambui Sons and daughters for funds for the construction of Bambui Morden palace which today stands as one of the best in Region. This was for the wellbeing of his people, Handed consumerable items to the Tubah district hospital for doctors and nurses with a Morden theatre which is at the completion point, just to ensure that healthcare is given to the population. He pushed for the Supply of medical equipment estimated at 71 millions in the Tubah district hospital.

Ntumfor is equally on of the major contributors as far as the Bambui women development association is concerned. He is trying his best yo see that he cheaps in his contributions for the construction of the women empowerment center in Bambui. He equally encourages the women by offering them a football trophy every year when they have their AGM.

As far as BACUDA is concerned, Ntumfor is the chairman of the lobby committee, working in close collaboration with people like Nkah- Lah Julius Fuli and Tseufor Becha Christian to ensure that bambui is never left out as far as the development of the Fondom is concerned.

His personal Donations in almost every AGM is always so encouraging and he is always ready to give more for his people. A man seen as a model by most youths and loved by his constituents.
