Catholic Church Mourns the Passing of a Priest Swept Away by Strong Water Currents:

"On behalf of Most Rev. Dr. Aloysius ABANGALO FONDONG, Bishop of Mamfe, I make this announcement regarding Rev. Fr. Carol Tchinda Nguito, Parish Priest of St. Matthias Quasi Parish, Tabongkwa - Mbetta Deanery, Diocese of Mamfe.Rev. Fr. Carol Tchinda Nguito was swept away by a strong current in a river he was attempting to cross on his way from one of the mission stations to another. The incident occurred in the evening of Thursday, 31 July, 2025 in between Mboa mission station and Ekwenzu mission station, Tabongkwa. The search and rescue efforts are currently ongoing," Read a portion of a document from Mamfe Diocese.

Bamenda II D.O, Nicholas Nkongho Manchang Has Died

Nicholas Nkongho Manchang, the Divisional Officer (DO) for Bamenda II, died on Tuesday, July 29, 2025. He passed away in a hospital in Douala after spending 12 days there for bullet wounds.

Gunmen shot him in Limbe on the night of Thursday, July 17, 2025, and he had been receiving treatment in Douala since then.

Manchang will not take over his new job in Baham, West Region of Cameroon, where he was appointed as the new Divisional Officer by a Presidential decree on July 22.
