The PCC Christian community in the USA have said their final goodbye to the Former Moderator of the PCC, The Very Rev Dr Festus Ambe Asana who was called to glory on June 22, 2026. This was during a two-day event that took place in Orlando Florida from Friday July 17 to Saturday July 18, 2026.
The events brought together PCC faithfuls and other well-wishers from various states of the USA.
On Friday July 17, 2026, the event took a cultural outlook characterized by glowing eulogies to the fallen Soldier of Christ and the cultural celebration of his legacy.
On Saturday July 18, 2026, a College of Clergy led by Rev Ghislain Ebai, the Coordinator of PCC USA Diaspora, led a funeral service in honor of the Former Moderator. Late Rev Asana was described by every speaker as a meek, faithful and devoted Servant of God and a loyal and loving father and husband. One remarkable aspect of this service was the words of encouragement given to the mourners by the Widow of the Pastor, Mama Jenny Asana.
The celebration of the life of the Former Moderator will continue when his mortal remains are conveyed to Cameroon where two other services will be held in his honor in Buea on August 12, 2026 and in Ntamulung Bamenda on August 14, 2026.
When all is said and done, the true measure of a man remains his ability to love and be loved. Late Rev Festus Asana loved and was loved.
May God grant him eternal rest and peace.

Even the armed crisis in the North West and South West couldn't shorten the pastoral ministry of the Rev Voma Simon Montoh who has officially bidden farewell after four decades of pastoral service.

Rev Montoh was shot on August 22, 2021, at chest level in cassock while officiating a Sunday service on the PC Ntafoang altar in Bali. A Christian woman was shot dead in the same incident.

At his retirement service this Sunday at PC Akum where he has served as parish pastor for some time now, Rev Montoh gave thanks to God while praying for better days for the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon.

A parent of a GCE candidate has, on behalf of concerned parents and guardians, formally demanded compensation from the GCE Board and the Ministry of Secondary Education after examination papers were rescheduled due to a leak.

In a petition addressed to the GCE Board and Minesec, which was sent to MMI News on Monday, the group of parents protested the manner in which authorities handled the rescheduling, arguing that parents have been forced to bear additional costs caused by administrative failure.

They asked that MMI News should not reveal their identities for fear that their children might be penalized.

The letter noted that parents paid full school fees, registration fees, revision fees, transport, feeding, and accommodation costs based on the original timetable.

"Now the exams are delayed to July. This means I have to spend more money I do not have, just because of someone else's failure," the letter read.

"The GCE Board is supposed to compensate me and other parents for this loss."

Citing common law principles, the parents accused the Board of breach of contract, negligence, and unjust enrichment.

They also invoked international law, including Article 26 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, arguing that disrupting examinations without adequate remedy violates children's right to education.

The parents issued four demands: a clear compensation plan for additional costs, an independent inquiry with published findings and sanctions against those responsible for the leak, public disclosure of security measures for the new timetable, and an option for a refund of unused services for parents who cannot sustain the extended period.

"We are not the cause of this problem. We have paid, prepared, and sacrificed. It is unjust to make parents and students suffer again for administrative failure," the letter stated.

The parents warned that failure to address their grievances would force them to seek legal redress and escalate the matter to regional and international human rights bodies.

The written session of the GCE was rescheduled on June 6 after confidential questions were leaked on social media. Remaining papers were rescheduled to now run from June 22 to July 2, 2026.
