WA CAMEROON, INNITIATES PROJECT TO CLEAN BAMENDA.
Denizens of the Ngomgham neighborhood are now all smiles after an initiative by “women in Action Against Gender Based Violence” abbreviated WACameroon to rid their neighborhood of all waste.
Following sensitization campaigns by the coordinator of WACameroon Mrs. Awondo Judith and her team, quarter heads of Ngomgham 1, 2, 3 and 4 mobilized their residents to contribute 500frs CFA each to hire the machinery to clear the neighborhood of all waste.
The cleanup was to cover eight dumpsites. Talking to this reporter, Simon Chi, the quarter head of Ngomgham 4 express joy and satisfaction promising that he will do all in his power to ensure that the territory within his jurisdiction remains clean.
The story was the same for the quarter head of Ngomgham 1 David Forya, who in high spirits praised the coordinator of WA Cameroon on all under his jurisdiction to keep their environ clean.
On his part the quarter head for Ngomgham 3 reiterated that measures will be put in place to keep Ngomgham clean and defaulters will be liable to sanctions. The initiator of the Programme, Mrs. Awondo Judith, while pointing out the dangerous effects of waste on the population called on all stakeholders responsible for waste management, to be responsible in carrying out their functions. She also asserted that delaying to dispose waste by the persons responsible is an act of irresponsibility. She further expressed worry that the town of Bamenda does not have an incinerator and wonders what becomes of waste from hospitals. Mme. Coordinator ended by inviting officials to work with local Authorities such as Chiefs and Quarter Heads as this will effectively ensure the cleanliness of the town adding that the initiative was not a competition with them but was to rather serve as a booster.
The cleanup exercise saw garbagecans from Hysacam which had been standing for over four months overturned. This crowd pulling event attracted other Quarter heads like those of Ntarinkon 3 and Alakuma Quarters who express their wish that such an initiative be brought to their neighborhoods. This was highly welcomed by WA Cameroon.
With such highly needed initiatives coming up, there is hope that Bamenda which has been colonized by garbage will soon return to its former glory of looking neat.

Hello Fellow Southern Cameroonians!!

"We" started a revolution in November 2016 for our emancipation and enhancement of our rights, self-determination and ability to carve our own future without the diktats of foreign entities.
We have fought a gallant fight. We have not WON yet we have not LOST. We have shown to the entire world how resilient we can be when we want to.
Almost one year after (Lawyers, Teachers and the subsequent "Coffin Revolution"), methinks it is time to do some soul searching, introspection and map out strategies for the way forward.

NB: These are my random thoughts and not emanating from any ante-chambers of some political think-tank. So if you must attack my input, then do so without using the tired route of calling all dissenting opinionated characters like moi-meme as "Sell Outs". I am not and never will be. I say it as I see it. Na all dat.

POSITIVES:
1) Truth be told, Cameroon shall never be the same again in the foreseeable future

2) Being an "Anglophone" shall never be used again pejoratively by francophone to disparage people of Southern Cameroons. Southern Cameroonian leaders have emerged who were hitherto unknown in the national scene and boy oh boy...are they fire-brand?

3) Appointment of S/C as eternal "Ad joints" in government of Para public organizations will no longer be the norm. Meritorious Anglophones will occupy prestigious positions in government like Finance, Defense, Secretary General @ the Presidency, Ambassador to the USA, Nigeria, UK.

4) English shall be taught to Anglophone students by Anglophone teachers in the English language.

5) Everyone now accepts that there are two main distinct cultures that cannot be bastardized by a stroke of the pen (Decrees) or by acrobatic subterfuge or political chicanery that partly led to the present stalemate.

6) Without the advantage of a sophisticated well-armed (to the teeth) security forces, Southern Cameroonians have once again proved what resilience can do while standing in harm’s way.

In that sense, we've succeeded way beyond our expectations. While I understand that certain aspects of our DEMANDS have not been fulfilled (remember that HOPES never Die:
I am Suggesting that we take a deep breath and put an end to the GHOSTs TOWN phenomenon and pave the way for a resumption of schools, come September 2017. And here are my reasons:

A) Allowing our children to go back to school is not a sign of failure, weakness or capitulation but an element in political science described in self-defense politicking as "Negotiation Jujitsu Bodoshiming"

Information reaching some of us reveals that a prolonged status quo may make an already deplorable economic chaotic climate more confusing. As a matter of fact, many of our youths have been radicalized, constituting and transforming themselves into dangerous elements of uncertainty. They are now going around (especially in the North West Province unleashing a new brand version of urban terrorism) on the population that has borne the bulk of the entire suffering of the S/C peoples. Many of these our desperado youths (through no fault of theirs) may be lured into provocative acts of arson and banditry thereby jeopardizing our already fragile and even nonexistent security.

We, Southern Cameroonians have to accept our own short-comings. Many of us are greedy self-seeking careerist opportunists, power hungry unconscious despots and even political neophytes. We are the architects of our own demise (Over book, Over sabi and Over Do Me I Do You) This is not a critique. It is reality and I am guilty as charged for the same crimes. It simply means..."We too like Fight; justified or not".

B) Truth be told: Life is gradually returning to normal in many parts of SW Region. Instead of allowing our "Collective Fight" to die a natural death, (with all the repercussions that may reverberate from a few overzealous CPDM talking heads) it is better to call an official "Cease Fire".

C) Calling off the Ghost Towns and Resumption of classes come September 2017 will not stop SC from continuing to request the immediate release of their leaders; the continuous demands of an autonomous, Independent or Federal Southern Cameroons (whichever comes first).

CONCLUSION
I am hereby officially and for the reasons raised above begging our "LEADERS" of the various SC groups to give a serious thought to my suggestions and LIFT the specter of the debilitating GHOST TOWNS and Schools Closure.
I may be wrong but what is the rationale for (example)"Anglophones of Bamenda extraction" not going to school in Bamenda but their other children attend "Anglophone" schools in Yaounde, Douala or Limbe?
I honestly don't understand. YES, there are so many "Anglophone" schools in Yaounde (Bastos, Etoug-Ebe, Biyem Assi, Melen, Madagascar, Essos, Obilli, Lake Y'de, Etoudi, T**i Garage, Nsam Efoulan, and Cite Verte). All these "Anglophone" schools (Private, Religious and Para-government) are functioning 100% without the slightest inkling about the strike in Abakwa.
The curriculum taught in these schools is not the topic of this discussion but rather the fact that there is an observation of a clear cut case of DOUBLE STANDARDS. You can juxtapose this same scenario with our LAWYERS. Na the same thing. I dey tok lie?

ARE CAMEROONIANS BEING TAKEN FOR A RIDE?
The Cameroonian political landscape has over the years presented a kaleidoscopic outlook, with the making and breaking of alliances which have always invariably left the masses not only confounded but at the losing end. Day before yesterday, it was the alliance between the CPDM and Diakolle Daisalla’s MDR, and we later heard about a presidential majority which served only to cement the selfish drives of a coterie. Yesterday was the turn of the Bouba Maigaris, the Issa Tchiromas and the Hamadou Moustaphas of mean ilk who strove hard only to thwart the political will of the Cameroonian people. Today, media organs are awash with claim and counter-claim of a CPDM-SDF alliance, to the utter consternation of many who had continued nursing hopes that this opposition dispensation remained their best bet. And as has been intimated, while individuals pocket millions of tax payers’ hard-earned cash because of the infamous-inglorious alliances, the masses continue to see red.
A concatenation of chance or choice events contributed to conclusions about this much talked about CPDM-SDF alliance. The first was the Owona-Fru Ndi meeting at the Chairman’s residence for unprecedented pleasantries over a cup of breakfast coffee. The news surprised many who had banked on the Chairman’s party remaining a radical outfit whose dealings with the ruling party could only be at the proverbial long bamboo pole distance. Yet some individuals who thought dialogue should be given a chance albeit a fleeting one had made this impossibility possible!
Other events soon followed, the acme being the (in?)famous meeting of the two party leaders and the handshake that was immortalised for posterity by media organs – that was during the four-day presidential visit to the North West Region, during which trip the President in his wonted style made promises galore: about negotiating with major companies to tar the Ring Road (rehashed more than twenty years after the promise was first made), of constructing a Reference Hospital, a thermal plant and of creating a University of Bamenda (apple of discord which has set the Bamenda folk at each other’s throats because they think it should be split into bits and shared all over the Region to fit the logic of their parochial prism).
Basking in the lustre of these promises, Biya met Fru Ndi and the rumour mill churned stories to the effect that their public handshakes and embraces were accompanied by covert exchanges that loaded the one and the other for a life time and consequently established the grounds for such hobnobbing and consequent hoodwinking of Cameroonians. Thus the meetings with the Gregoire Owonas during the SDF Convention, followed by the parleying with the Belinga Eboutous lately gave the smirking SDF Chieftain the opportunity to make more capital out of a belated alliance. That, as I said, was what the rumour mill spun.
However, an April 23 2013 press release by Jean Robert Wafo, SDF Shadow Cabinet Minister i/c of Information and the Media dismissed all these press insinuations as unfounded these allegations, asserting that any alliance would have been formalized. He described as circumstantial what happened in the senatorial elections in the West Region where the CPDM, without a list, publicly declared that the SDF with representatives from seven out of eight Divisions be voted instead of the CDU with representatives only from two of the eight Divisions. Thus while the CPDM had no choice but to ride on the republican tides that were vogue in the Western climes, the SDF invited her own councillors in the Littoral where the SDF list was rejected, to effect a vote of conscience. Wafo ended his release by roundly deploring what he insinuated had been influence peddling and intimidation that had suborned the SDF councillors in the North West to vote for the CPDM.
Should we conclude that these statements with evidence being only cloudy statements like “circumstantial”, “representative”, “vote of conscience”, etc vitiate the possibility of the rumoured alliance? After all it became clear that even the representatives of the people did not only vote conscience, they were enticed with envelopes and chunky-sized wads of bank notes. As we said from the start, the masses are the ones who end up victims in the whole business because those who purport to talk for them end up filling their pockets with money and joining the charade. For how long will these Cameroonian masses continue to allow themselves to be taken for a ride? The answer is certainly blowing in the wind; God save Cameroon.
