For those who don't know the context — In our culture, a *Fon is a king.* He is seen as the embodiment of the land and the people. So when a Fon kneels before God, before the Altar, some people see it as lowering the throne.

But 2 Chronicles 7:14 turns that thinking upside down:

It says healing of the land starts _with_ humility from the leader. God was not speaking to ordinary people in that verse — He was speaking specifically to leaders, to _His people who are called by His name.

What the Fon of Fungom did is biblical leadership:
- He showed his people that he is under a higher authority — God.
- He showed that tradition and faith are not in conflict. A true Fon protects his people spiritually as well as traditionally.
- He interceded for the land. Fungom, like many parts of the Northwest, has seen so much suffering — and God promises if we humble ourselves, He will heal our land.

A king who kneels before God does not become smaller. He becomes a bridge for his people to receive forgiveness and healing.

May the Fon's prayer be answered for Fungom and for all of Cameroon.
