*JOURNALISTS UPGRADE THEIR SKILLS ON ELECTIONS COVERAGE *

The Meme Divisional Chapter of the Association of English Speaking Journalists ( CAMASEJ) organized a seminar on elections coverage in Kumba.
It brought together more than 30 media practitioners who participated with enthusiasm.
Facilitators at the 2 day Seminar included the CAMASEJ President of Bamenda, Sah Terence, Veteran Journalists Charlie Ndi Chia, Njomo Kevin and Yuh Innocent.
The Meme Divisional Delegate of Communication, Seasoned journalist Ebane Slessor Kome gave the keynote address.
The National President of CAMASEJ Mr. Jude Viban and elderly journalist Prince Ndoki Mukete gave the event its solemnity while the Kumba chapter President of CAMSEJ Nzaih Bweh and his team ensured the vivacity of the Seminar.
The Mayor of the Kumba City Council Greg Mewanu spiced the event with acknowledgements on the worthy contributions of journalists to the activities of the council.
The Seminar was sponsored by the Kumba City Council.

*NEWLY ACQUIRED GRADER BY KUMBA I COUNCIL IN ACTION*

A newly acquired grader by the Kumba I Council is boosting road maintenance in the area.
Following a plan mapped out by the Mayor Barrister Moses Eseme and his collaborators is grading the road behind Army rescue unit down to the public cemetery (Scheibler street) in Njuki Quarter, after which laterite soil will be compacted to it.

It is hoped that this rehabilitation will better the road situation while working towards long term solutions of paving or tarring.

The MTN Cameroon Regional Sales Manager for Southwest and Moungo, Mr. Albert Ngwa, alongside the Territory Sales Coordinator for Kumba and Mamfe, Mme Bebga Noela, recently paid a courtesy visit to the City Mayor of Kumba, Greg Mewanu during which duscussions centered on strengthening collaboration between the telecommunications giant and the City of Kumba. Mr. Ngwa pledged his personal commitment to ensuring a smooth and mutually beneficial partnership going forward.

*MORE THAN 150 YOUTHS IN KUMBA II COUNCIL AREA EMPOWERED TO MANUFACTURE PAVEMENT BLOCKS*
A means of livelihood has been provided for more than 150 Youths in the Kumba II Council Area.
The Youths were recently trained how to manufacture pavement blocks.
The training was under the program to reconstruct the Southwest and Northwest Regions. The program is run by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development (MINHDU) as it donated pilot paver manufacturing units for the purpose. Training was at the kumba 2 Sub divisional Council premises.
