✏️THE GOD OF ISAAC

_“Then Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the Lord blessed him. The man began to prosper, and continued prospering until he became very prosperous; for he had possessions of flocks and possessions of herds and a great number of servants. So the Philistines envied him.”_ ‭Genesis 26:12-14 ‬

REMEMBER:
The God of Isaac is also your God; as the Bible tells us, “Moreover God said to Moses, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel: ‘The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My name forever, and this is My memorial to all generations.’” Exodus 3:15. Then the Bible says, “If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s Seed (descendant), and heirs according to the promise” (Galatians 3:29). Glory to God!

As we’ve seen previously, The God of Isaac is ‘a Partner’ which is evidenced in the Lord’s strategic dealings with Isaac that made him so rich and prosperous to the point of being envied and even feared by whole nations (Genesis 26). The Bible shows how that relationship worked. It was one of deep trust and confidence in God. It was such a relationship whereby even when God told him to do things that were humanly senseless, he followed along in obedience and hence enjoyed the Glory of God. God subsequently Blessed Him with continuous Prosperity, and Signs and Wonders - as we can also see in our opening verse. _[Pause. Think about it!]_

You too can trust in God. You too can walk with God. It’s like our Lord Jesus said, “…The words I say to you I do not say on My own initiative or authority, but the Father, abiding continually in Me, does His works [His attesting miracles and acts of power].” John 14:10 (AMPC). ✏️THE GOD OF ABRAHAM

_“And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for Righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God.”_ James 2:23

REMEMBER:
“Moreover God said to Moses, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel: ‘The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My name forever, and this is My memorial to all generations.’” Exodus 3:15. The Bible then tells us, “If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s Seed (descendant), and heirs according to the promise” (Galatians 3:29). Therefore, the God of Abraham is also your God; just like Ruth said to Naomi, “Your people shall be my people, And your God, my God” (Ruth 1:16). _[Pause. Think about it!]_ In learning about the God of Abraham, what we are studying is the intimate way in which God engaged with him which is the same way in which He desires to relate with all those who are Abraham’s Seed (Genesis 18:19).

As we already saw in yesterday’s Study, The God of Abraham is ‘a Friend’ and this can be seen in the intimate fellowship that the Lord shared with Him. Note that it was God Himself who first called Abraham His Friend (Isaiah 41:8), and God made known to us the reason, “For I have chosen him, so that he may command his children and his household after him TO KEEP THE WAY OF THE LORD by doing Righteousness and Justice...” Genesis 18:19. It was because Abraham had made up his Heart and Mind to stick to God and His Word. This is why King David told Solomon his son, “…acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind…” 1 Chronicles 28:9 (NIV). There’s no two ways about this. You too have been called to be a Friend of God and can walk in that Light fully, with all the Blessings that ensue just like…

✏️THE GOD OF ABRAHAM, ISAAC, AND JACOB

_“Moreover God said to Moses, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel: ‘The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My name forever, and this is My memorial to all generations.’”_ Exodus 3:15

REMEMBER:
We previously had a Study where we talked about the God of our Fathers and there we saw why we must now identify with these instead of our earthly heritage. It’s because we have come into a New Kingdom and this God has identified Himself permanently and solely with a particular Physical Heritage which is the Lineage of Abraham. _[Pause. Think about it!]_

He has said, “…This shall be my memorial to all generations”. This is why the Bible tells us, “If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s Seed (descendant)” (Galatians 3:29) and no longer an offspring of your earthly village. Like some people would say ‘a son of the native soil’; No, you now hail from above (Heaven). You have a new lineage. Glory to God!

Today, let’s see some more; Who is the God of Abraham? Who is the God of Isaac? Who is the God of Jacob? Of course, it’s the same Almighty God, but we are going to be looking at how differently He related with these three people, because that’s the true memorial - it’s the conglomerate of the nature of His relationship with them. The God of Abraham is ‘a Friend’; this is seen in the intimate fellowship and sharing-together that the Lord had with the man Abraham. We even find God Himself calling Abraham His friend (Genesis 18, Isaiah 41:8). How intimate! _[Pause. Think about it!]_

✏️HE HAS GIVEN US A TEACHER

_“All your children will be taught by the LORD, and great will be their Peace.”_ Isaiah 54:13 (NIV)

REMEMBER:
It’s a wonderful thing to have God Himself teach you. Think about it, how then could you possibly fail in Life? This is why He says, “Listen carefully, my dear child, to everything that I teach you, and pay attention to all that I have to say. Fill your thoughts with my Words until they pe*****te deep into your spirit.” ‭Proverbs 4:20-21 (TPT‬). Why? Because “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong…It corrects us…and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip His people to do every good work.” ‭2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NLT‬). So, the Scriptures - the Holy Bible - is the principal way by which the Holy Spirit teaches us. That’s why studying the Bible for you should not be a negotiable thing.

Notice the second part of our opening verse, it says as a result of this teaching, “…great will be their Peace.” (Isaiah 54:13). Wow! Therefore being a diligent and consistent student of God’s Word is how to enjoy the Peace that comes from Him. This Teacher is called ‘the Comforter’ for this reason; the things He teaches you are what make for your Peace as a Christian. Yes, the Word of God as inspired in you by the Holy Spirit is what brings you Peace. As you study the Scriptures and move on to meditate on it, and use them in the place of Prayers, the Holy Spirit makes these Words come alive in you. This happens even in the face of adverse circumstances. As it is written, “…you will experience God’s Peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His Peace will guard your hearts and minds...” ‭Philippians 4:7 (NLT‬). Yes, that’s our Teacher. Glory to God! _[Pause. Think about it!]_

✏️WE ARE TO LIVE FROM ABOVE

_”My beloved friends, imitate my walk with God and follow all those who walk according to the way of life we modeled before you…we are a colony of Heaven on earth as we cling tightly to our life-giver, the Lord Jesus Christ”_ ‭Philippians 3:17, 20 (TPT‬)

REMEMBER:
The Bible tells us our Lord Jesus is sitting “far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come” (Ephesians ‭1‬:‭21‬) and we are seated together with Him. We are those called to taste of the powers of the world to come, now, in this world - as seen in some of our previous Studies.

Apostle Paul said, “For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in Heaven and Earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His Glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in Love…to know the Love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the Fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us” Ephesians ‭3‬:‭14‬-‭20‬. _[Pause. Think about it!]_

We’ve been called to enjoy and display the Glories of the world that is to come, and it’s totally beyond merely winning in this present system. God wants us to so absolutely dominate the systems and elements of this world with the heavenly system from above (Matthew 6:3). In John 3:6-8 our Lord Jesus declares, “That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows where it wishes…So is everyone who is born of the…

✏️SING TO THE LORD

_“And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ”_ ‭Ephesians 5:18-20 ‬

REMEMBER:
The Bible tells us, “For you were once darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord. Walk as children of Light…Therefore He says: “Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you Light.” See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the Will of the Lord is.” Ephesians ‭5‬:‭8‬, ‭14‬-‭17‬

There’s something crucial to mark in the Scripture above, he says, ‘Walk as children of light’ and ‘Walk circumspectly, redeeming the time’. There is a way Children of Light live. There is a way of living in Christ that enables you to gain time in Life; to always be ahead. “If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the Truth. But if we walk in the Light as He is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.” 1 John ‭1‬:‭6‬-‭7‬. _[Pause. Think about it!]_

Walking in the Light, Walking circumspectly, and redeeming the time have everything to do with our topic for today - Singing to the Lord. Signing to the Lord is the key. Notice the final admonition in the Scripture above is “Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the Will of the Lord is” (Ephesians ‭5‬:‭17‬). So, understanding God’s Will is where the Wisdom is to walk in and enjoy the above-stated advantages. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 says, “In everything give thanks; for this is the Will of God in Christ…

✏️WHERE IS YOUR CONFIDENCE?

_“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.”_ 1 John ‭5‬:‭14‬

REMEMBER:
The Confidence that our opening Scripture describes is assured by the Intercessions that the Spirit of God makes through us as seen in Romans 8:26-27 which says, “Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with Groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the Will of God.”‭ _[Pause. Think about it!]_ ‬

This Intercession of the Holy Spirit through us is the reason for the results we see in the next verse: “And we know _(WE HAVE CONFIDENCE)_ that all things work together for good to those who Love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” Romans ‭8‬:‭28 and 1 John‬ ‭5‬:‭15 “…whatever we ask, we know _(WE HAVE CONFIDENCE)_ that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.” Therefore the biggest aspect in Prayers is in the Confidence that we are being heard. ‬

Only the Holy Spirit can truly make Intercessions exactly according to the Will of God as required, “…as we ought…”, as seen above. This kind of Intercession only takes place when we are in true vital union with the Lord as He said, “My son, give me your heart, And let your eyes observe my ways.” ‭Proverbs 23:26. He said, “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” John 15:5. That ‘nothing’ more than anything else has to do with Prayers. There’s no Confidence for answered Prayers outside intimate Fellowship with the Lord. _[Pause.‬‭Think about it!]_ ‬
