✏️WHERE IS YOUR CONFIDENCE?

_“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.”_ 1 John ‭5‬:‭14‬

REMEMBER:
The Confidence that our opening Scripture describes is assured by the Intercessions that the Spirit of God makes through us as seen in Romans 8:26-27 which says, “Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with Groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the Will of God.”‭ _[Pause. Think about it!]_ ‬

This Intercession of the Holy Spirit through us is the reason for the results we see in the next verse: “And we know _(WE HAVE CONFIDENCE)_ that all things work together for good to those who Love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” Romans ‭8‬:‭28 and 1 John‬ ‭5‬:‭15 “…whatever we ask, we know _(WE HAVE CONFIDENCE)_ that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.” Therefore the biggest aspect in Prayers is in the Confidence that we are being heard. ‬

Only the Holy Spirit can truly make Intercessions exactly according to the Will of God as required, “…as we ought…”, as seen above. This kind of Intercession only takes place when we are in true vital union with the Lord as He said, “My son, give me your heart, And let your eyes observe my ways.” ‭Proverbs 23:26. He said, “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” John 15:5. That ‘nothing’ more than anything else has to do with Prayers. There’s no Confidence for answered Prayers outside intimate Fellowship with the Lord. _[Pause.‬‭Think about it!]_ ‬

✏️THE HELP OF GOD

_“His miracles are His memorial - This God of Grace, this God of Love.”_ Psalms 111:4

REMEMBER:
The Help of God is the most precious thing a man can have while in this world. With the Help of God, man can be, do, and achieve anything; no longer is there anything impossible. The Bible says, “For with God nothing shall be impossible.” Luke 1:37. Apostle Paul in Philippians 4:13 tells us, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” ‭Philippians 4:13. Both these Scriptures reveal to us how vital the Help of God is. It really makes all the difference. ‬

Talking about the Help of God in the life of Jacob, the Bible says, “He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; He led him about, He instructed him, He kept him as the apple of His eye.” Deuteronomy 32:10. He said to Him, “Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go…for I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you.” Genesis 28:15. God is more interested in Helping you than you are needy of help. The Holy Spirit is called ‘the Helper’ (John 14:26). _[Pause. Think about it!]_

Do you have the Help of God? Do you need the Help of God? In the New Testament, the Help of God is what is called ‘Grace’. Notice how He’s called in our opening Scripture, “This God of Grace, this God of Love” (Psalms 111:4). He tells us in Hebrews 4:16, “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of Grace, that we may obtain Mercy and find Grace to help in time of need.” This is a call to persistent Prayer and Devotion in the sight of God.

✏️TO BE WISE IS TO BE HOLY

_“As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as He Who called you is Holy, so be Holy in all you do”_ 1 Peter 1:14-15 (NIV)

REMEMBER:
We have previously established that the Wisdom of God is to Love. We’ve also established that God is Love. We’ve reviewed several attributes of Love especially as shown to us in 1 Corinthians 13 (you can read it). Let us now look at another outstanding and all-encompassing attribute of Love (the Wisdom of God). God tells us, “Be Holy, because I am Holy” (1 Peter 1:16). The Prophet Isaiah said, “…I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of His robe filled the temple. Above Him were seraphim, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying. And they were calling to one another: “HOLY, HOLY, HOLY is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of His Glory.”” Isaiah 6:1-3 (NIV).

That is mind-blowing! Holiness is at the very core of God’s nature; it makes Him the reference of all Creation. In Scriptures such as the one above and the Psalms, the term ‘HOLY’ is applied to God both as a Noun and as an adjective. This term being used as a Noun means ‘Holy’ is the very Personality of God; and when used as an adjective, it perfectly and completely describes the attributes of God. Our opening verse says, “…just as He who called you is Holy, so be Holy in all you do” (1 Peter 1:15). Living a life of Holiness is a demonstration of the Fear of God, which is the beginning of Wisdom (Proverbs 9:10). _[Pause. Think about it!]_ Therefore, walking in Wisdom is by walking in Holiness, and it is not a hard thing for a Christian because the Bible says, “…You are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us Wisdom from God-that is, our…

✏️TO LOVE

_“We Love Him because He first Loved us.”_ 1 John ‭4‬:‭19‬

REMEMBER:
There is no such thing as Love where the Love of God is not known and acknowledged. That’s what our opening verse points out. But then, “If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? And this commandment we have from Him: that he who Loves God must Love his brother also.” 1 John ‭4‬:‭20‬-‭21‬. That’s why our Lord Jesus told us, “By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have Love for one another.” John 13:35.

We have seen that God’s Wisdom is to Love and have seen what Love means [read our Studies of the two previous days]. You must also understand that there is a way to Love. Love is not just something you carry on anyhow, or just how you feel like. Apostle Paul said, “Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not Love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not Love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not Love, it profits me nothing.” 1 Corinthians ‭13‬:‭1‬-‭3‬. So then, what is the measure? What does it mean to Love? Our Lord Jesus said, “Love one another. IN THE SAME WAY I Loved you, you Love one another” (John 13:34). _[Pause. Think about it!]_

You cannot truly Love without an intimate relationship with Jesus and His Word because only He knows what it is to Love (John 15:5). He is Love personified. Apostle Paul in Philippians ‭1‬:‭9‬-‭11‬ ‭(MSG‬) says, “So this is my prayer: that your love will flourish and that you will not only love much but…

✏️LOVE

_“So we have come to know and to believe the Love that God has for us. God is Love, and whoever abides in Love abides in God, and God abides in him.”_ ‭1 John 4:16 (ESV‬)

REMEMBER:
The Bible says, “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of Wisdom” (Proverbs 9:10). And “He who does not Love does not know God, for God is Love.” 1 John 4:8. This again amplifies what we saw in yesterday’s Study, that God’s Wisdom is to Love - not sometimes, but always. Whenever you find yourself in a situation and seem to not know what to do, always choose the Love option, and you’ll definitely be walking in the Wisdom of God. _[Pause. Think about it!]_

That’s why Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that all things work together for good to those who Love...” ‭Why? Because Faith and Hope will produce no real fruit without Love (Galatians 5:6). “Love consists in this: not that we loved God, but that He Loved us and sent His Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins.” 1 John 4:10. This is supposed to be the motivation for our Love as Christians. ‬

You ought to walk in Love towards everyone - whether or not you think they deserve it - because it’s about God and His Grace. God’s Love is the expression of His Righteousness. That’s why the Bible says, “Little children, make sure no one deceives you. The person who practices Righteousness is Righteous, in the same way that Jesus is Righteous…Those born from God don’t practice sin because God’s DNA remains in them...” 1 John 3:7, 9 (CEB). _[Pause. Think about it!]_

God’s DNA is LOVE. When you walk in Love, sin will be history to you; you’ll automatically be exhibiting Righteousness. For example, you won’t steal from anyone if you Loved them; nor slander them, nor lie to them. Love is how we as Children of God are to be distinguished in this world - an unconditional, self-giving, selfless Love. As our…

✏️GOD’S WISDOM IS TO LOVE

_”But God demonstrates His own Love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”_ Romans 5:8

REMEMBER:
The Bible tells us, “…we speak the Wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden Wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory, which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of Glory.” 1 Corinthians 2:8. It lets us know here that the rulers of this world did not know that Jesus Christ dying was a demonstration of God’s Love - His Wisdom (wise plan) for saving us; as it is written, “For God so Loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting Life.” ‭John 3:16. ‬ _[Pause. Think about it!]_

Apostle Paul said, “My passion is to enlighten every person to this divine mystery. It was hidden for ages past until now, and kept a secret in the heart of God, the Creator of all. The purpose of this was to unveil before every throne and rank of angelic orders in the heavenly realm God’s full and diverse Wisdom revealed through the Church. This perfectly wise plan was destined from eternal ages and fulfilled completely in our Lord Jesus Christ…” ‭Ephesians 3:9-11 (TPT‬). Notice, it says, “…God’s full and diverse Wisdom revealed through the Church…”! But how exactly is this Wisdom revealed through the Church? Our Lord Jesus said, “By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have LOVE for one another.” John 13:35. The full and manifold Wisdom of God is to Love.

That is the Wisdom which we as Children of God speak, which is totally different from the wisdom of this world (as seen in 1 Corinthians 2:7-8 above); it is the language of Love; that is God’s Wisdom. _[Pause. Think about it!]_ The wisdom of this world is craftiness…

✏️IT’S ALWAYS TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH

_“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”_ ‭Acts 1:8 ‬

REMEMBER:
God’s mandate and work are always to the ends of the earth. He doesn’t leave anyone out. When it comes to the preaching of the Gospel, the spread of salvation, and the outpour of the Holy Spirit, God’s desire is always to reach people to the ends of the earth. And that is where we as Christians come in; we have been given the charge to ensure that God’s dream of giving everyone a chance and opportunity to be saved is fulfilled. Added to our opening Scripture, our Lord Jesus said, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature” ‭(Mark 16:15). ‬

God wants people reached with Love, with Hope, with Faith to the ends of the earth. “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9. Our Lord Jesus is coming again, real quick, and He wants as many saved as could be. Think of any Blessings that God has put in your life; think of all those testimonies that God has wrought for you; now, understand that He wants people everywhere to experience the same and even greater works and he can do this through you. The first step is 1 Timothy 2:1-3 (TLB) which says, “Here are my directions: Pray much for others; plead for God’s mercy upon them; give thanks for all he is going to do for them…This is good and pleases God our Savior.” _[Pause. Think about it!]_

As we do, the Bible declares, “He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two; He burns the chariot in the fire.” ‭Psalms 46:9. God’s plan for ‬establishing…

✏️THE JUDGE OF ALL THE EARTH

_“Talk no more so very proudly; Let no arrogance come from your mouth, For the Lord is the God of knowledge; And by Him actions are weighed.”_ ‭1 Samuel 2:3 ‬

REMEMBER:
Our Lord Jesus said, “Nothing is covered up that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known. Therefore whatever you have said in the dark shall be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in private rooms shall be proclaimed on the housetops. “I tell you, my friends, do not fear those who kill the body, and after that have nothing more that they can do. But I will warn you whom to fear: fear Him Who, after He has killed, has authority to cast into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear Him!”” Luke ‭12‬:‭2‬-‭5‬ ‭(ESV‬).

The Scripture above gives us the assurance and admonition that there is nothing hidden from God’s sight. He is therefore very different from human judges who generally make judgements based on grossly limited and biased information. Revelation ‭19‬:‭2‬ says, “For True and Righteous are His judgments...”. This should be your firm assurance. He said, “Repay no one evil for evil…Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.” ‭Romans 12:17-19. _[Pause. Think about it!]_ ‬

✏️THE GOD WHO ANSWERS PRAYERS

_“‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’”_ ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭33‬:‭3‬ ‬

REMEMBER:
Our Lord Jesus in affirming said the good will of God in actkng favorably towards all His Children said, “Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find; knock and it will be opened to you.” Matthew 7:7. The God of our Fathers is the God Who answers prayers. The Bible tells us, “Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and He delivered them from their distress…Then they were glad…and He brought them to their desired haven.” Psalm 107:28-30. Glory to God!

In Psalms 22:3-5 King David in prayer said, “You are holy, Enthroned in the praises of Israel. Our fathers trusted in You; They trusted, and You delivered them. They cried to You, and were delivered; They trusted in You, and were not ashamed.” Hallelujah! That’s the God we serve, He is a God Who answers prayers. That’s why all of the heroic characters we read about in the Bible depended so much on Prayers, because they knew that they were praying to the God Who answers - He answered them. And following their example, we ought always to pray. _[Pause. Think about it!]_

We read of the Prophet Elijah and his confrontation with the prophets of baal. The idol god baal utterly failed to answer all his 450 false prophets [read 1 Kings 18:25-29]. But the Bible says, “…Elijah the prophet came near and said, “O Lord, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, let it be known this day that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant, and that I have done all these things at Your Word. Answer me, O Lord, answer me, that this people may know that You, O Lord, are God….” Then the fire of the Lord fell and consumed the burnt offering and the wood and the stones and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench…

✏️THE GOD OF OUR FATHERS

_“Moreover God said to Moses, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel: ‘The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My name forever, and this is My memorial to all generations.’”_ Exodus 3:15

REMEMBER:
The Church of Jesus Christ is considered one generation of God’s chosen people. As it is written, “A seed shall serve Him; It shall be accounted to the LORD for a generation. They shall come, and shall declare His Righteousness Unto a people that shall be born, that He hath done this.” ‭Psalm 22:30-31. Being part of the Church (that is, being born again) therefore means that you now have new origins, new forefathers, because you are from a different place altogether. God makes it clear in our opening verse that anyone who identifies with Him must do so by adopting the roots of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. ‬

The implication of this is that you are not a Kenyan Christian or a Cameroonian Christian; that is not your ‘fatherland’; No, you are now the seed (descendant) of Abraham, identified thus in Christ Jesus - being a part of His Body (the Church). As it is written, “And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed _(descendant)_, and heirs according to the promise.” Galatians 3:29. When you predominantly identify yourself with your previous earthly (natural) heritages instead of the heavenly one, you short-circuit the power/authority of God at work in your life. Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob - these are your true ForeFathers and their God is your God. You must think this way. _[Pause. Think about it!]_

Look at how Apostle Paul puts it: “For you are all sons of God through Faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek…for you are all one in Christ Jesus…

✏️PRAY FOR YOUR COUNTRY

_“The wicked shall be turned into hell, And all the nations that forget God.”_ Psalms 9:17

REMEMBER:
The simple fact that whole Nations can be turned into hell is more than enough reason why fervently praying for your country should be at the core of your heart and daily values as a Christian. Imagine all that would be lost! This also makes preaching the Gospel in every place a chief priority because the Gospel is God’s saving power for the world of men (Romans 1:16). God wants us to pray for the Nations, to preach the Gospel in the Nations, and that with urgent effect. I invite you to join us on the AT-THIS-HOUR [Global Prayer Network] as we pray for the Nations as one; from Monday to Friday, 12 am and 12 pm (GMT+1).

God says, “Seek the Peace of the city where I have caused you to be…and Pray to the LORD for it; for in its Peace you will have Peace _[and Prosperity]_.” Jeremiah 29:7. He said, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the Will of My Father in Heaven.” Matthew 7:21. Therefore, praying for your country and preaching the Gospel at large is crucial - wherever you find yourself. It doesn’t matter how terrible, horrible, evil, devastated, or chaotic the situation of that Nation or Place has been, once God’s Children begin to obediently and intently pray for it, there will be a favorable change by the Hand of…

✏️KNOWING THE WILL OF THE FATHER

_”Then he said, ‘The God of our fathers has chosen you that you should know His will, and see the Just One, and hear the voice of His mouth.”_ Acts 22:14

REMEMBER:
That’s the first reason for your Salvation, it is to know the Will of God. This is because, “The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the Will of God lives forever.” ‭1 John 2:17 (NIV‬). And just like in our opening verse, our Lord Jesus clearly stated, “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish...” ‭John 10:27-28 (NIV‬). Knowing the Will of the Father concerning everything is the guarantee of the Christian. Just like our Lord Jesus, we must be fully conscious that we are on earth to do God’s Will, not ours [read John 6:38, Hebrews 10:7].

Now, you cannot truly know anything of the Kingdom of God except through the Spirit of God, no matter how much you read and/or hear it; until the Spirit of God enlightens your heart, you will still remain in the dark in regard to those things. The Bible says, “But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God…no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God…because they are spiritually discerned.” 1 Corinthians 2:10-11, 14. As such, always knowing the Will of the Father entails deepening your fellowship with the Holy Spirit. _[Pause. Think about it!]_

Our Lord Jesus said, “He will guide you into all Truth; He will teach you all things; He will show you the future; He will bring God’s Word to your remembrance” (John 14:26, John 16:13). Take your fellowship with God through the Holy Spirit very seriously because knowing the Will of the Father is by His Word and Prayers - as you fellowship with Him through the Holy Spirit.
