✏️THANKSGIVING IS HOW YOU ENTER

_“Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His Truth endures to all generations.”_ ‭Psalms 100:4-5 ‬

REMEMBER:
In the same light of our opening verse, Hebrews 13:15 (AMPC) tells us, “…let us constantly and at all times offer up to God a sacrifice of praise, which is the fruit of lips that thankfully acknowledge and confess and glorify His name.” Then we have the prescription to Prayer in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (AMP) which also fervently emphasizes thanksgiving: “Rejoice always and delight in your faith; be unceasing and persistent in prayer; in every situation [no matter what the circumstances] be thankful and continually give thanks to God; for this is the Will of God for you in Christ Jesus.” ‭Glory to God! ‬

It’s such an amazing thing to know that Thanksgiving is the Will of God (His Divine requirement and recommendation) for His Children. 1 John 2:17 (MSG) lets us know that “The world and all its wanting, wanting, wanting is on the way out—but whoever does what God wants is set for eternity.” ‭Don’t let your Christian Life be full of unremitting wants but rather secure your eternal heritage by living a life of thanksgiving. Your very Salvation in Christ Jesus is the ultimate [more than enough] reason for you to continually give thanks to God always. Our Lord Jesus showed us this where He said: “…rejoice because your names are written in heaven.” Luke 10:20. So, everyday when you wake up - no matter the present circumstances of life that you might be faced with - rejoice because your name is written in Heaven. Truly, that’s worth everything. _[Pause. Think about it!]_ ‬

✏️THE WAR AGAINST THE SOUL

_“Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul”_ 1 Peter 2:11

REMEMBER:
Our Joy as Christians is found in our continual and invested fellowship with the Father and Our Lord Jesus, through the Holy Spirit, and with one another. The devil knows that the only way to hamper this Joy is by lunching attacks against your soul and he does this by three things: “For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.” 1 John ‭2‬:‭16. Our Lord Jesus said, “But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts _(your Soul)_ be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day _(the end)_ come on you unexpectedly.” ‬

Our opening verse lets us know that as Christians we are temporary residents and foreigners here on Earth, and He therefore warns us to keep away from worldly desires because they wage war against our souls. These worldly desires are again: the lust (cravings) of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. These things are the number one enemies of the Soul; that’s how satan gets his hold on a person. Therefore, “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him…the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the Will of God abides forever.” 1 John ‭2‬:‭15‬, ‭17. _[Pause. Think about it!]_ ‬

What is the Will of God then? The Bible tells us, “In the same way that nursing infants cry for milk, you must intensely crave the pure spiritual milk of God’s Word. For this “milk” will cause you to grow into maturity, fully nourished and strong for life” ‭1 Peter 2:2 (TPT‬). “If you will teach…_[other]_ believers these things, you will be known as…faithful and good…

✏️LAYING ASIDE EVERY WEIGHT

_”Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,”_ ‭Hebrews 12:1 ‬

REMEMBER:
There are certain factors that would hinder one from walking in God’s special Rest, full and complete. You must choose to lay aside every weight. Our Lord Jesus clearly said that the way of the Glorious Life is narrow (Matthew 7:14), meaning that unnecessary baggage cannot go through; therefore you’ve really got to drop them all. Drop them all! Drop them now and refuse to let any weight - of this world - attach itself to you. Also, be anxious for nothing (Philippians 4:6).

How is this possible? Invest yourself, “[looking away from all that will distract us and] focusing our eyes on Jesus, who is the Author and Perfecter of faith [the first incentive for our belief and the One who brings our faith to maturity], who for the joy [of accomplishing the goal] set before Him endured the cross, disregarding the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God…Just consider and meditate on Him who endured from sinners such bitter hostility against Himself [consider it all in comparison with your trials], so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.” ‭Hebrews 12:2-3 (AMP‬). _[Pause. Think about it!]_

The above Scripture reflects exactly what our Lord Jesus said, “I am the Vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in Me and I in him bears much fruit, for [otherwise] apart from Me [that is, cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing…bear much fruit, and prove yourselves to be My [true] disciples.” ‭John 15:5, 8 (AMP). “Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and every expression of evil, and ‬‭humbly accept the Word planted in you…

✏️BEING DILIGENT

_”Let us therefore be diligent to enter that Rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.”_ Hebrews ‭4‬:‭11‬

REMEMBER:
Yesterday we saw what God’s special Rest is and how that as Christians we are to make the courageous choice of walking in it. It is just as God told Joshua, “Be strong and of good courage…Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do…do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua ‭1‬:‭6‬-‭7‬, ‭9‬

Our opening verse today tells us about just the same, it says, “Let us therefore be diligent…” which brings to mind what the Scriptures say in Philippians 2:12, “Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;” then we have Hebrews ‭4‬:‭9‬-‭11‬ which says, “There remains therefore a Rest for the people of God. For he who has entered His Rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His. Let us therefore be diligent to enter that Rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.” ‭ _[Pause. Think about it!]_ ‬

Comparing the two scriptures above unveils to us something very profound which is: our diligence has to do with deep obedience. The first Scripture says to be diligent to do “…as you have always obeyed…” (Philippians 2:12) while the second Scripture says to be diligent not to walk in “…disobedience.” (Hebrews 4:9-11). It behoves us to understand this Truth. Diligence in our Christian walk is about adhering to every piece of Instruction and Guidance as directed to us by the Lord through His Word. ✏️ENTER INTO HIS REST

_“Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.”_ 2 Corinthians ‭3‬:‭17‬

REMEMBER:
Do you have the Holy Spirit living in you? If your answer to that question is ‘no’ or uncertain, then you should receive Him to come live in you, help, and direct your life - right now is the time. It’s like Apostle Paul asked some people, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you became believers?” (Acts 19:2). It is possible to be born again (being in Christ) and not have Him dwelling in you. The Holy Spirit is the one who brings true liberty - the real experience of eternal freedom in Christ. [Read Ephesians 1:13-14]. Now, it is written, “So there is a Special Rest still waiting for the people of God.” ‭Hebrews 4:9 (NLT‬)

Our Lord Jesus said, “Are you weary, carrying a heavy burden? COME TO ME. I will refresh your life, for I am your oasis. Simply JOIN YOUR LIFE WITH MINE. LEARN MY WAYS and you’ll discover that I’m gentle, humble, easy to please. You will find refreshment and Rest in me. For all that I require of you will be pleasant and easy to bear.” ‭Matthew 11:28-30 (TPT‬). Take note of the 3 directives He gives us for entering into His Rest; it doesn’t end at just coming to Him, you must also maintain constancy in your relationship with Him - joining your life to His. _[Pause. Think about it!]_

The last element there is one that’s very important, He says, ‘Learn my ways’. To enjoy God’s Rest you must learn and walk in God’s ways. For example, you cannot become an excellent tailor by practicing watchmaking; you must learn the corresponding craft. There’s a Jesus-craft to learn; there is a way of doing things in Christ that brings you into His Rest - full and complete. That’s how you fully enter that rest and remain. ✏️GROWING UNTO PERFECTION

_“Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works…”_ Hebrews ‭6‬:‭1‬

REMEMBER:
There are fundamental principles that we must learn as Christians upon being born again. These are elementary principles - as seen in our opening verse above - which if missed can lead to a depletion of Faith, Trust, and Confidence in God. This is why you sometimes find Christians who say things were much better when they first gave their hearts to Christ; it doesn’t have to be that way; things should only get better each passing day, from Glory to Glory, that’s the true Christian Life.

We find that what causes such depletions is their missing out on the elementary principles. For example, so many Christians today see no need to seriously study their Bibles - reading through from Genesis to Revelation. This is something you must do very often, over and over again. Many Christians don’t have personal importance for Meditation; which is something that you cannot really grow in God without. Many Christians see Prayers as one of the religious activities we do, whereas that celestial communication is our lifeline. These and more are elementary things that must be rooted deeply in you. _[Pause. Think about it!]_

As you get yourself established in these basics, it’s important to know that the overall purpose is Growth - that is, going on to Perfection. Apostle Paul points out one elementary principle in our opening verse, which is “…repentance from dead works…” He says it’s time to move on from there! How? Through robust ‘Christ Consciousness’. For example, the Bible tells us, “Whenever our hearts make us feel guilty and remind us of our failures, we know that God is much greater and more merciful than our…

✏️RELEASING THE BLESSING

_“Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.””_ Genesis 1:28

REMEMBER:
God released the Blessing upon Adam with Words - by speaking. The NHE version puts it even more clearly, it shows us that “And God blessed them, SAYING…” (Genesis 1:28). The Blessing was released (conferred) through Words. The Amplified Bible reveals another detail, it says, “And God blessed them [granting them certain authority] and said to them…” (Genesis 1:28). The conferment of Blessings is a conferment of authority. God gave them the authority by which to prosper and have all of Life respond positively to them. _[Pause. Think about it!]_

However, authority will do you no good until you use it - you exercise it through words. It’s like Job shows us, being one who evidently had this working for him; he said, “You will also declare (decree) a thing, And it will be established (happen) for you; So light will shine on your ways.” ‭(Job 22:28). Refuse to keep your mouth shut; use your God-given Authority of Blessings to prosper in Life and Godliness; He already made available all you’ll need [read 2 Peter 1:2-3]. Everyday, speak words that will catapult your life from your present level of Glory to the next. Everything around you - your wallet, wardrobe, academics - is waiting for you to speak words of Blessing to such degrees that it begins to affect them. ‬

In Deuteronomy 8:18 Moses said, “And you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth…” Yes, there is such a thing as a power to get wealth. It is ‘power to get Wealth’ - meaning it is not the wealth (financial, material) itself, but is rather the power (ability) to…

✏️HE GAVE TO NO MAN

_“And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want…And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.”_ ‭Luke 15:14, 16 ‬

REMEMBER:
The Bible in our opening Scripture shows us that no man gave to the prodigal son simply because He gave to no man, he spent all he had. So, his suffering wasn’t only because of riotous living, but more because of his own craftiness. 1 Corinthians 3:19 (AMP) says, “For the wisdom of this world is foolishness (absurdity, stupidity) before God; for it is written [in Scripture], “[He is] THE ONE WHO CATCHES THE WISE and CLEVER IN THEIR CRAFTINESS;””. _[Pause. Think about it!]_

I want you to visualize Giving in terms of every possible gifting: Comfort, consolation, exhortation, resources, finances, help, etc. As seen yesterday, this places even more emphasis on why you should be a fervent Soul Winner, pouring out rivers of living waters for the sake of others and giving words of Comfort and exhortation (The Gospel) to others lavishly. Never allow yourself to come to the point where you’re no longer preaching the Gospel; you should preach the Word one way or the other on a daily basis. You don’t have to feel like it first.

The Bible tells us about an evil day, and when that day comes for you, it’s important that there should be people to give to you: in terms of prayers, intercessions, exhortations, resources, and support. Our Lord Jesus clearly said, “So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.” Matthew 7:12 (NIV). It might not be the same people who will return this good to you, but God will certainly bring it about. ‭_[Pause. Think about it!]_ ‬

Finally, Galatians 6:7-10 says, “Do not be deceived, God is…

✏️DON’T BE A DEAD SEA

_“Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.”_ Matthew 10:8

REMEMBER:
The Dead Sea is known as thus because it has inlets and lacks outflow; so things can’t successfully live or grow there. God doesn’t want us His children to be that way. The statement “Freely you have received, freely give” as read in our opening verse was one made by our Lord Jesus as a direct instruction to His disciples - both then and now by extension. He commands us to be distributors of whatever Blessings, Graces, Favors, and Messages that we receive, hear, and/or believe from God. _[Pause. Think about it!]_

Apostle Paul tells us, “…remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” (Acts ‭20‬:‭35‬).‭ The Bible further says, “Grace to you and peace [inner calm and spiritual well-being] from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Blessed [gratefully praised and adored] be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts and encourages us in every trouble SO THAT we will be able to comfort and encourage those who are in any kind of trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” 2 Corinthians 1:2-4 (AMP). ‬

This is the secret to perpetually receiving from God; because God will not keep supplying to an unremitting channel. Our Lord Jesus said, ”Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.” Luke 6:38. This also greatly applies to the Word of God (the Gospel) and everything that we learn from Him. We must be preachers of the Gospel and dispensers of God’s goodness. Let God’s rivers flow…

✏️BE RENEWED IN THE SPIRIT OF YOUR MIND

_”If indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the Truth is in Jesus: that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind”_ Ephesians ‭4‬:‭21‬-‭23‬

REMEMBER:
Our opening verse says, “…be renewed in the spirit of your mind.” This goes beyond the content of your mind; it’s beyond simply having the right material in your mind - which is also necessary. This is more about changing the processes of your Mind, altering your mental processing. He’s talking about ‘Attitude’. It has to do with the way in which you engage the contents of your thoughts and their outworking. That is, what kinds of thoughts do you predominantly choose to express? Notice our opening verse says, “…you have heard Him and have been taught by Him…” meaning you already have the information in you; but then how and how much do you choose to manifest it?

Ephesians 4:20-24 (MSG) says, “…You learned Christ! My assumption is that you have paid careful attention to Him, been well instructed in the Truth precisely as we have it in Jesus. Since, then, we do not have the excuse of ignorance, everything—and I do mean everything—connected with that old way of life has to go. It’s rotten through and through. Get rid of it! And then take on an entirely new way of life—a God-fashioned life, a life renewed from the inside and working itself into your conduct as God accurately reproduces His character in you.” Hallelujah! He goes on to give us a template of how to think and attitudes to impose on your Mind for victorious living [read Ephesians 4:25-32]. _[Pause. Think about it!]_

✏️YOU SHOULD TASTE AND SEE!

_“Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!”_ ‭Psalms 34:8 ‬

REMEMBER:
Our Lord Jesus told us, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do...” ‭John 14:12. He was talking about works resulting from the manifestation of the powers of the world to come at work in us. The Scriptures tell us, “…Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” BUT God has revealed them to us through His Spirit...” 1 Corinthians‬ ‭2‬:‭9‬-‭10‬. Therefore we can taste the Glories of the world to come.

We can see a picture of these Glories in Revelation ‭21‬:‭4‬-‭5‬ which says, “And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.”” Glory to God! And in the Old Testament, the Prophet Isaiah said the same. It’s time for you to taste and see. How do you want to preach a Good News that you do not fully know or enjoy? _[Pause. Think about it!]_

Many Christians greatly wonder if these things - as declared by God above - are possible. They wonder because of how much their present experiences differ. But Yes, they are possible! The Scriptures tell us of those “…who have tasted the goodness of the Word of God and the powers of the world to come” (Hebrews 6:5) and God is no respecter of persons; you too can taste and see. It’s not for a select few. It will work for you too. It’s time for you to taste and see! 1 Peter 2:2 says, “As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the Word…
