The Date Changed!
But did you change?

I used to be one of those persons who will wish "Happy New Month" to everyone on my contact list immediately after midnight.

I was so excited to step into the new month. But, I will get exhausted just a few days into the month because I had:

❌Not properly closed the previous month.

❌ Neither did I set goals, objectives or plans for the coming month.

But I had to change all these as time went on.

So, let me share with you my most effective plan to walk through every month without regrets:

📌Closing the previous month is very important. And it's abit easier for those who keep a journal. But, anyone can do it anyway.

To close the previous month you need to;

➡️ Look at the goals you set for yourself at the beginning of the month.

➡️ Strike or tick those you were able to
complete and recopy those you will continue working on next month.

➡️ Then write a note of appreciation to yourself stating all your accomplishments for the month.

➡️You can go ahead and score yourself on any scale you want.

➡️ Note that, this is also a form of self-evaluation. And it can be a form of motivation to progress.

🎯It's essential to do this on the last day of every month so that you stay on track.

📌Now that we have gracefully stepped into the new month. It's time to:

➡️ Set your goals and make sure you write them down.

➡️Include the goals from the previous month you still have to complete, to the list.

➡️ Split those big goals into smaller goals and write down your objectives and strategies.

➡️ Don't forget to include the resources, deadlines and most of the things you will need.

➡️You are reminded to include periods of rest, relaxation and other activities that are important to you.

➡️Give room too for pop-ups as well.

🎯We can do this on the last day of the previous month or on the first day of the new month.

🗣️These has not only made the new month exciting but more structured and less stressful. Why not give it a try?

We'll like to know!

How you structure your new month for success?

"What you're wearing might get you into trouble. Make sure to wear something longer next time!".

A random stranger on a bike told me this while I was walking back home.

Being pretty young at the time, I was always enthusiastic to try out every piece in my wardrobe without any negative intentions.

Though, I often dressed decently. But that wasn't the case on that day.

And that comment went really deep.

Though I gave out that particular dress to a younger one,I learned somethings I will like to share with you:

📌Dressing decently should be a lifestyle and we should practice it at all times. Be it at home, while going to school, attending parties or even going down the street. We should always be decent.

📌Knowing what to wear and when to wear it is also important. Once we are comfortable and presentable with our outfits, it boost our confidence and self-esteem.

📌People will likely treat us the way we appear. That's, if we have the attitude of dressing indecently, we will be treated as such. Likewise, if we dress decently.

🎯It's a new week! Make sure you step out decently and according to how you want to be addressed!

Have you ever been called out for your dressing?
And what was your reaction?

Did You Know?

Your parents can play a significant role in helping you overcome shyness.

That's if you give them a chance to:

💫 Encourage open communication: Allow your parents to have comfortable discussions with you. Feel free to Share your feelings and concerns with them.

💫Build confidence: Accept praise and encouragement from them. Especially those related to your strengths, accomplishments, and efforts.

💫Role-play social situations: Allow them to help you practice social interactions, such as participating in group conversations.

💫Support extracurricular activities:
Involve them in activities you are passionate about, so that they can also motivate you in building your confidence and social skills.

💫Model healthy social behavior:

To The Parents/Guardians Of Shy Girls!

Picture this: Your're at the market with your friends. There's this pair of shoes everyone is rushing to get for their daughters. The shoes are so nice that you believe every girl of her age will love to wear them. And you joyfully get a pair for your beautiful daughter.

You hurriedly buy the rest of the items on your list so you could get home quickly.

Once you get home with so much excitement, you call your girl into the room and gracefully open your bag and hand her the pretty box to open.

She opens the box and you see the joy disappearing from her once smiley face.

"Mom! Why did you do this?" She exclaims in disappointment.

"I can't wear this out! All eyes will be on me!"

"I just can't! I will manage my old shoes. After all they're still nice". She adds.

I'm sure as a parent/ guardian of a shy girl, you must have faced this?

And you must have expressed some spontaneous negative reaction.

But, there are better ways we can go about it. Without being violent, forceful or irrational with our kid:

✨No insults:

While using negative words might be a common reaction, we are encouraged to keep calm, don't shout, rather take a deep breath and take back the item peacefully from her. You can even go out of the room before she leaves.

✨Give her time to reflect:

You can leave the shoes or any other item where she will notice. Maybe she might have a change of mind after a while.

✨Encourage her:

After some time, motivate her to try the item on so that you can see if they actually look good on her. Then ask her why she doesn't want them again.

✨Avoid comparing her to her mates/other girl:

Let her know she is unique and that item fit well on her. Do well to remind her you chose that item because you love her.

✨Don't get everyone in the family involved immediately:

As this might cause her to feel uncomfortable. Practice talking to your shy daughter in private. Because, you might do your best to call her out and talk to her in a way that others will not know how to.

✨Talk to some of her close friends:

Know atleast one of your daughter's close friends from whom you can ask important questions about her. Don't do it as an interrogation rather a normal conversation.

✨ Create a trust worthy relationship with her:

So that she can feel free to tell you how she feels about herself and others from time to time.

✨Be her greatest motivator:

Tell her she's beautiful and remind her of her other good qualities. And encourage her to focus on her strengths and not on her weaknesses.

I used to do this too...
But I stopped and alot changed!

When we stop carrying old feelings into new experiences:

✨It gives us the opportunity to fully enjoy the benefits that come with those new experiences.

✨It eliminates doubt, stress and anxiety from our minds.

✨It also, gives room for better things to happen to us.

✨It prevents unnecessary competition and comparison.

✨ Letting go of old feelings makes us ready to embrace the new and to grow into the best versions of ourselves.

🎯Stop Carrying Old Feelings Into New Experiences!

I Won Before Starting!

Do you want to know how?

We are often encouraged to prepare our week on Sunday nights. And it's not a joke. It works magic if we take it seriously.

Imagine, you prepare your to-do list on Sunday night.

_Your activities aligned according to importance.

_And you have your outfits lined out from Monday to Friday.

-Then you leave space for pop-ups.

Trust me, you have already won the week before it begins.

🎯I have tried it and it works wonders. Why not give it a try too.
