I used to think the goal of an argument was to prove I was right, marriage quickly taught me otherwise.😔

What started as a simple conversation between my husband and I slowly turned into an argument.

The more we talked, the more we tried to prove our point.
I defended myself.
He defended himself.

And somewhere in the middle of all that explaining, something became clear.

We were no longer trying to understand each other… we were trying to win.
That’s when it hit me.

In marriage, arguments are not meant to produce a winner.
They are meant to bring understanding.
Because when one person wins the argument, the relationship quietly loses..

Don't argue to win but argue to understand.

When a woman is tired of explaining, she becomes quiet.

Not because she has nothing to say…
But because she has said it too many times and nothing changed.

At that point, she stops arguing.
She stops begging to be understood.
She simply starts adjusting her heart.

And sometimes, that quietness is the beginning of emotional distance.

Men often think the danger is when a woman shouts.

No.

The real danger is when she becomes calm, quiet, and stops trying.

A few days ago, I noticed my husband had been coming home late from work. He looked tired and quiet. Instead of asking him what was wrong, I started thinking too much.🤔

Maybe he’s avoiding me,😔, maybe something is wrong between us😓, maybe there's someone else 💔, I thought.🙈

Because of that, I became cold. I stopped smiling the way I normally do. I stopped asking about his day. My answers became short. Yes, no or it's there 🤷

He noticed the change too, but neither of us said anything. The house suddenly felt quiet and heavy.

After two days, he finally asked me,
“Did I do something wrong?”

I told him, “You’ve been coming home late. I thought you didn’t want to spend time with me anymore.😔

He looked surprised and said,
“I’ve been working extra hours to save money for my project, he explained.

At that moment, I realized something: all that tension between us happened simply because I didn’t ask.

That day reminded me of something important in relationships:

Never assume. Always communicate.

Many relationship problems are not caused by bad intentions but by unasked questions and unspoken feelings.

She said yes 🫨.

I said to her:
Respect is more important than gifts. Gift can stop but respect should never stop. besides, if he did not buy you gift 🎁, get one for him, that's the sweetness of marriage. She became calm 😔.

Many women are chasing romance but forgetting respect.
