The writing on the wall behind me translates to " I am the woman of my life" and that resonated strongly with me.

I was just thinking today about how it took getting to my 40s to know how to truly advocate for myself without hesitation.

If you learned this earlier on in life, especially as a woman, God bless you, don't ever stop. Because in the wise words of Foxy Brown:

Alot of people came for me in the comments of Part 1 on IG lol.

If they had waited juuuuust a little bit for Part 2 they would have seen that I had the following additional comments ⬇️.

▫️If you plan to spend more than a day or 2 max in Martinique or Fort de France, you will need a car, unless you don't mind doing mostly the same things for the rest of your trip.

▫️Double check opening times for all the places you’d like to go to because they could either be closed for a given day of the week, or on a long lunch break as is customary on a lot of French Caribbean islands.

▫️If you'll be taking the bus, consider times on the schedules to be approximations of when the bus may get to your stop lol - could be earlier, could be later , mostly the latter, I have a whole other post coming up on that.Additionally, the public transit service seems to go on strike alot.

Martinique is an overseas region of France in the eastern Caribbean Sea with a population of about 350,000 people.

This “island of flowers” in the West Indies can be an attractive destination due to its low crime rate, tropical climate, rich biodiversity, beautiful beaches and its blend of French and Creole cultures.

An unfortunate incident some years ago with an airline that went bankrupt derailed my plans from visiting this destination on my travel bucket list. BUT destiny delayed is not destiny denied can I get an Amen?
