Fear is the greatest obstacle standing between you and the life you were meant to live.
Practical guide: How to stop letting fear steal your life
1. Identify what “maybe someday” is hiding.
Ask yourself:
“What is something I keep telling myself I’ll do someday because I’m afraid to do it now?”
Be specific. Is it leaving a relationship? Starting something new? Speaking up? Applying for something? Being alone?
2. Name the actual fear.
Don’t just say, “I’m scared.”
Ask: “What exactly am I afraid will happen?”
Sometimes the fear becomes smaller once you put words to it.
3. Separate danger from discomfort.
Not everything that scares you is dangerous.
Sometimes your mind is reacting to uncertainty, not actual danger.
Ask yourself:
“Am I protecting myself from something harmful, or am I avoiding something uncomfortable?”
4. Stop demanding courage before taking action.
You don’t have to feel completely confident first.
Start ridiculously small.
If your goal is to start something new, don’t demand that you build the whole thing today. Take the first uncomfortable step.
Fear often gets quieter after you move—not before.
5. Give yourself a deadline for “someday.”
Instead of saying, “I’ll do it someday,” say:
“I will take one step toward it by ___.”
Because “someday” can quietly become years.
6. Accept that fear may come with you.
Healing from fear doesn’t mean becoming a person who is never afraid.
It means saying:
“I’m scared, but I refuse to let fear make every decision for me.”
Your life doesn’t have to change all at once. Start with one thing fear has been keeping you from doing. Take one small step. Then another. One day, you’ll look back and realize that “maybe someday” finally became “I did it.” ❤️🩹
