In early 1913, Stephen began preaching at an evangelistic crusade in Swansea, Wales, and the meetings quickly grew in frequency and size. Urgent for help, Stephen called George home from Bible school to help him.
The meetings went on for seven weeks and officially launched the ministries of both Jeffreys brothers. From there, they preached in other parts of Wales and had scores of converts.
Their first healing miracle occurred when Edith M. Carr was healed of a diseased foot, which her doctors had planned to amputate. Stephen and George went to her home, anointed her with oil, laid hands on her, and prayed. God answered the prayer of faith and healed her completely. She later gave a testimony to the power of God that had touched her as the Jeffreys brothers prayed, saying, “A great light came around me, and filled me with great power, and I arose from the couch and stood on both feet and then walked gently round the room with scarcely any help.”36 People came from miles around to see for themselves the woman who had been healed and to hear the Jeffreys brothers preach.

THE SECRET POWER.
In the early 1970s I heard a message by Kathryn Kuhlman that left an indelible impression on my life. It was titled, The Secret Power of the Holy Spirit.

At the time, I had just come into the Charismatic movement, and frankly, I did not know much about the Spirit-led life. One thing I did know was that I was a hungry young man who wanted everything God had for me.

On the platform that morning, Miss Kuhlman, wearing her usual flowing white dress, preached passionately. I was savoring every word, hungry for more.
After the service I rushed to purchase a cassette and painstakingly wrote down every sentence on a small notepad. I practically memorized the message. It was not an "in one ear and out the other" sermon. This was
a message that saturated my thoughts.
Many years later God spoke to me and instructed, "Preach that message."
I questioned, "Lord, it is not my
message."
I'll never forget His response.
The Lord replied, "You are right. It is not your message; it is My message!"

I QUESTIONED, 'LORD, IT'S NOT MY MESSAGE."So I preached it because after the years had passed, the sermon was no
longer something I had just heard, it was a message I had experienced!

The Secret Power of the Holy Spirit had become real.
