We are happy to announce that we are a sub-grantee in the Northwest Region under the Vote Smart Cameroon project, led by FPS.

As part of this initiative, we will be implementing activities to empower first-time voters to participate meaningfully in the 2025 presidential and 2026 municipal & legislative elections. Our work will include:

Candidate profiling – helping voters make informed choices

Peer-led dialogues – creating spaces for youth discussion on democracy and leadership

Voter education – equipping citizens with the knowledge and tools to vote smart

We call on all first-time voters to check their polling stations on the ELECAM website https://www.elecam.cm/ and prepare to make their voices count. Together, we can foster an informed, active, and democracy-minded electorate in the Northwest Region.

Africa Parliamentary Monitoring organizations network (APMON) launches the 2nd Edition of the Africa Open Parliament Index (OPI)

The OPI assesses 33 African Parliaments on transparency, citizen participation, and accountability.

Though Cameroon is not yet part of the Index, this initiative serves as a key benchmark and source of inspiration. At Politicos, through our People’s Parliament initiative, we are committed to promoting civic engagement, transparency, and parliamentary accountability. We will continuously work to ensure that the Cameroon Parliament actively engages and strengthens its openness to citizens.
