Great
According to the Global Solar Atlas, the lowest solar radiation levels in Africa exceed the highest levels in most European countries. For example:
In Cameroon, the average Global Horizontal Irradiance (GHI) ranges from 4.5 to 5.7 kWh/m²/day While in contrast, countries like Germany and the UK receive between 2.5 to 3.2 kWh/m²/day. Yet these countries lead in solar installations. Even Africa’s “least sunny” countries, like coastal regions of West Africa, outperform most of Europe in solar radiation.
Despite the fact that Bamenda experiences over 2,000 hours of sunshine annually power cuts can last for weeks, months, and years leaving families and businesses in the dark.
That’s why solar energy isn’t just an opportunity, it is the solution. And we urgently need trained solar technicians to turn Africa’s solar wealth into real energy access.
At Sustainable Actions Afrika , our “She Is Solar” trainees, together with our expert partners at NJ TECH , are ready to equip homes, communities, and businesses with clean, reliable, and available solar energy solutions.
Do you want to power your home solar? Contact us for a solar installation today.
Solar is the Solution.
Dear what is Global Horizontal Irradiance (GHI)? : It tells us how strong the sunlight is in a particular place. It’s like measuring how much solar power you get if you put a solar panel flat on the ground.
