Armed men, allegedly separatists fighters in the afternoon of Thursday June 11, shot and killed a man popularly known as Pa Yankee at the Alahlie neighborhood in nkwen.

Information reaching MNews237 says Pa Yankee resisted from being kidnapped from his house before he was shot dead.

The troubling news send shockwave to residents around the Alahlie quarter and surrounding with some wandering while pa Yankee at his age was targeted.

Insecurity around the Nkwen neighborhood in Bamenda has surge leaving many residents living in fear and panic.

The incident came after two men, were also picked up by armed men believe to be separatists two days back in nkwen, and their whereabouts still not known.

Road Users express satisfaction as BUNS Begins Backfilling process of Mile 2 bridge

Road users, most of them residents of the Nkwen neighbourhood, have expressed satisfaction as the road construction company BUNS begins the backfilling of the Mile 2 Bridge, constructed as part of the ongoing Bamenda Urban Bypass project.

Many residents gathered around the bridge on Tuesday, June 9, as BUNS workers continued the backfilling process.

They shared their views, expressing both their appreciation and the difficulties they had endured during the construction period.

Several residents commended the quality of work carried out on the famous bridge despite the numerous challenges faced by the company during its ex*****on.

The commencement of the backfilling process sends a reassuring message to the population that traffic will soon be restored on this stretch of the road in the coming days.

Since traffic circulation on the bridge was disrupted, road users have continued to experience numerous challenges, including difficulties moving in and out of Nkwen, as well as increased transportation costs in reaching their destinations.

The construction works also resulted in severe traffic congestion along K-Town Road, which has served as the main diversion route for many people accessing the Mobile area and other parts of the town from the Mile 2 and Mile 3 neighbourhoods.

The restoration of traffic on this road is expected to ease these challenges, as many residents and onlookers present during the backfilling process expressed optimism that normal movement will soon resume.

The construction of the said inflicted pain in many families after a footpath created for pedestrian gave way, leading to the death of 4 persons according to official sources.

The Senior Divisional Officer for Mezam finally bands circulation of heavy duty trucks on the K-town bridge

As it stands, that's the only bridge car owners conveniently uses to access Mile two and beyond from the Mobile Nkwen.

The Mile two and 2-bridge stretch is unpassable owing to ongoing works, leading to serious traffic congestion on the K-town bridge for cars and heavy duty trucks, unlike bikes that could easily maneuver on specific tracks.

The situation is worst in the morning hours when children are going to school, and people heading to their places of work or business sites.

A heavy duty truck rammed into a building on K-town Hill few days ago causing untold traffic and property damage.

The narrow-nature of the bridge in question and traffic on it, had raised concerns amongst commuters on how long it could or will be able to bear the pressure.

The suspension of heavy duty trucks can be seen as timely, in an effort to avoid the unknown
